Genuine question without your wind-up hat on, would you sack GA tomorrow then?

If so, what would your plan be for the promotion push run-in?

That would take rational thought. And as we know some posters on here lack the ability to think correctly, make knee jerk reactions and statements and demand success at every turn.

Alexander has certainly made some of the posts in this thread look really stupid, you know who you are ;).

I believe being able to return to a subject and read what fellow posters wrote will hopefully reduce some of the knee jerk reactions we see when things don't go as some posters want, the vast majority accept things can change very quickly in football which may not be under the clubs control, injuries being a massive hinderance to us this season, who's have thought after that great performance against Cheltenham by just changing Huntington for Byrne and Leigh for Mellon would have seen such an anti climax with regard performance, the midfield (engine room) was exactly the same as Tuesday night ?.

Alot of the posts in here stand. We were going nowhere for the last few years. The same promises, the same failures.

It wasn't working under the Sparks and Rupp leadership any better than it was under Edin and Rupp. The fans spoke their mind and we now have a head of football operations who is actually seen us run like a professional club rather than a five a side team.

Seems some have very short memories. Even before Christmas it was hardly riveting, only since after Christmas where we've had a spell of admittedly superb football. Put into context a couple months of decent entertainment offset against 7 years of some the worst football I've seen in over 40 years of watching this club. All those now claiming some sort of moral high ground to behave themselves, absolute whoppers.

For me there is always balance and perspective.

Some football has been poor (some abysmal), provided by footballers who were just not able to ‘cut the mustard’.

Some poor management choices (I never got Grayson and Adam’s).

There is still no obvious ‘knight in shinning armour’ alternative owner. In fact no alternative owner.

The stadium issue is the proverbial albatross round the neck. No great solution available.

Not sure who the magic CEO who would part the League 1/2 divide to allow us to progress up the ladder. Sparks has now been at the club for seven years, time to grow and develop (look at Palios at Tranmere).

A lot of the other clubs ‘with vision and a plan’ (MK Dons comes to mind), or wealthy owners (Gillingham, MK Dons(again), Salford (although Lim has sold up, Carlisle now there is a spectacle), are not setting the table on fire.

So I would stick myself in the middle group. No high ground to be had, I suggested ways people could raise concerns, in this thread. I was relatively neutral about Alexander (a neither/nor), but I am being won over. I guess some other predecessors may have done better in the long term, but got the boot.

I am enjoying the current good spell. But I am a glass half full guy. I worry about the injuries to key players, loss of form, or just bad luck. Still a long way to go.

Fair reply Rod, you've probably watched as long if not longer than I have so understand the ups and downs of the club. This last couple of months have been the first 'up' months of Rupps tenure in my opinion, even the months under Hughes, despite the play offs game, never felt fully convincing. I'll be very happy if we do get.prokoted under his tenure but let's be real, we will only be back where we should have been in the first place, only because of him and his mate we were in this mess at all.

And let's not forget the football background Palios offered to his club Tranmere Rovers and also being a chartered accountant at Price Waterhouse Coopers the financial input Palios who specialised in business turnaround, one of his priority tasks was to stabilise the FA's perilous financial situation by resolving the financing of the Wembley Stadium project, Palios saving the FA from having to borrow a further $230 million, which would have put the whole organisation into financial jeopardy.

But you could also cite Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford, Luton, Wrexham, Stockport as positive examples of vision / plans / wealthy owners that have worked out.

And anybody who thinks Sparks actually planned to get Sharpe in without the protests is delusional...2 months before he is on record on the Radio L***s (not so) fans forum saying it wasn't necessary...

But I am bloody chuffed at the moment, look like a proper team and proper contenders.

Any comments anyone, including myself, made at the time were fully justified on the then situation. Now is not the time to dwell on those, it's time for us all to pull together and help get the team over the line. I am 100% happy with how things are now and also 100% happy to have been proven wrong. Come on lads, it's definitely there for the taking now

Aye some people love a bit of hindsight, without actually giving opinions themselves they prefer just to attack others instead. I’ve wanted Alexander out at times, he played dull football and we went through dry spells that never looked like they would end. He also refused to play players like Bobby over crap like Gilliead and Odour and had his hand forced through injury. In fact he stumbled upon this formation through injury. I like the guy but he’s had his fair share of luck, better to be lucky than good you could say. Thankfully things have improved for whatever reason it may be and I’m happy for him.

People think some are harsh on Rupp for overseeing 7 years of decline though, so I’m not surprised by their stance.

I think it’s fair to say that the mini protest did open the way for Sparks and Rupp to pay attention to fan unrest.
The continued campaign by a certain group to oust Rupp and Sparks probably needs to stop now.
