Listening to Alexander I'd think Pointon will be back first followed by Pattison then Sarcevic, it wouldn't surprise me to see Pointon in the squad for the Tranmere game and Pattison on the bench for the Colchester game, although i believe Sarcevic influences the game more than Pattison I wouldn't rush him back if we aim for the Crewe game 5th April that will be 4 weeks plus obviously if he's ready, that should give us the 4 of Pointon, Pattison, Sercevic and Smallwood for that difficult run in against Crewe H, Swindon A, Notts County H, Chesterfield A, Doncaster A and our final home game to Fleetwood, hopefully we can get some good results which may give Alexander chance to rotate, time will tell.

I think it’s all odd , now I suspect that the injury was being downplayed . I’ll leave it there .

I thought when I saw his starting 11 with Leigh up top it was a cautious line up, rather than a let's get up and at em, obviously we don't know what goes on behind the scenes, Kavanagh didn't look his normal self against Cheltenham the stupid foul near the dug out could have been a red from some of the referees we've had recently when he was brought on. He was buzzing at Salford at the end of the game you have to wonder having made the assist for the winner did he react because he thought he'd done we'll and should have been selected to start against Cheltenham ?, I'm with you I thought for closing down alone it would have been Kavanagh or Mellon, but always easy in hindsight mate.
With regards the result two even teams not a classic but the chances we made we didn't take they took one of theirs.

Beckham's foot injury was his metatarsal which is on the upper foot where as Alexander says Bobby's is under his foot ?.

Kevin, I didn’t want to mislead you, the injury just needs rest, and hopefully the two weeks rest will be sufficient.

Not a problem Derrick , it was your reply that left nothing other than guesswork to be fair , I didn’t think it was misleading at all , rather not the “full picture” . Speedy recovery for the wounded amigo’s .

Agreed - Tranmere are bottom of the whole L2 form table over last 12 games (and have lost 7 of last 8 away games) for a reason, accepting they've recently binned Adkins. I'd be mildly concerned about how it might go from here if we can't beat them. In other words, have to hope the Gills game was a blip.

Accrington are 20th in that overall form list and are 22nd in home form list over the last 8 games (of which they've only won 2). Whilst all our games are now proverbially 'must win', you'd have to say those two are games we really ought to be winning if we're planning on going up.

Football's not 'played on paper' of course, but on paper the Colchester game looks challenging given they're 2nd in the 'last 12' form table and are top of the whole away form table over the last 8 away games. They also have the 3rd best defensive record in L2 (we're 2nd). Since we drew with them away on 16th Nov, they've played 20 league games and only lost 2 of them, both around the turn of the year before going on their current unbeaten run which is currently standing at 11 games.

That said, we're top of that overall form table and we're at home, with the best home record in the division. They should be probably be more worried about playing us at VP than the other way around! We just need those players back soon...

To lose one of Sarcevic, Pattison or Bobby , we could cope, to loose all three at the same time is heartbreaking
Put two of those back in the mix , we would have brought at least a point home last Saturday. Hoping we have at least one back for Colchester.
Got to start Mellon or Kav on Saturday with Leigh on the bench.

If Mellon had been in Leigh's position, would he have scored one of those chances, probably. Leigh looks a tidy footballer, but does not appear to have a finish in him.
    Is it confidence, who knows.
Its all water under the bridge now.
Its a big week for us, without playing and all our rivals with games, Fingers crossed for some good results our way . Tranmere is a must win game for me. Bounce back from the defeat, to show we are a decent team.

My guess is they will park the bus and sit one up trying for a breakaway.

Just a word of warning. Tranmere haven't lost since they sacked Adkins and brought in Andy Crosby as interim manager. Two draws against Grimsby and Port Vale and a win against Bromley. They've got a bit of a new manager bounce.

Fair point. However the 'new manager' bounce eventually has to fade and go (as did our unbeaten run). Time to put them to the sword.

He was a consistent scorer for Accrington over the last couple of seasons, hopefully getting one goal will get him up and running. I do remember him looking good for them, but I haven't seen anything to suggest that he can be the main striker since he came to us.

I keep repeating, these teams fighting for their EFL lives are no pushover. These would be happy with a point , I’m sure .

I think it is harder than playing higher rated teams. It always has been for us. They would love to spoil our recent home form. We must dig deep and show them the door hopefully with a hatful of goals if we can or 1 scrappy performance goal the result is our only ambition.

Just as Gills weed on our parade not a few days ago . I really bugs me when some fans suggest these clubs will give us three points. Seen it far too often to know otherwise.
