Is it just a sign of the times of when each stand was built. Only way to make them bigger would be to make the concourse smaller and would they be able to do that ?

 

You should have been at Bromley, 3 urinals for all 450 away fans.

They assumed as northerners you could take your ale, probably thought 3 was overkill

Halifax Town's in the 80's were effectively an open sewer. The stench was gut wrenching

 

That was like the ones at the back of the BFD end and the old Kop. A channel !

 

They will be wanting warm water, soap , towels and toilet paper next.

Saltergate and York City, were basically a 2 inch trench in the floor if you remember those.

Tbh, when I have been in the main stand it has been easier to walk up about 5 flights of stairs to the upper tier toilets than wait in line at the bottom.

 

The old Spotland at Rochdale… “Terrace” was a cinder slope, and the “toilet” was a wall in the 60’s/ 70’s .

The main stand has a huge concourse area in contrast to the Kop where you can barely walk past the tea bar queues the concourse is so narrow.

 

Should have seen ours at the back of the old kop before the fire!

 

Charge 20p and folk would hang on 'til they got home......
