Swindon Town Away 12 April - Tickets

I saw the total allocation as 1000 but didn't see anything about opening up the uncovered end.
The usual away end holds 1300 so to me it seemed like a cap on away following???

 

As long as Sky stick to the 2 12:30 game and don't pick a Thursday game for this week I think we'll be safe although I did think that for the Stanley game and that was moved. I would say Stanley vs Tranmere and Morecambe vs Carlisle would be ahead of our game as relegation 6 pointers plus Doncaster vs Wimbledon as a top of the table clash. The only way I can see our game being on is if Swindon are still owed some games to get to the minimum of 20 games shown on Sky.

 

It's been moved to 12.30 to be shown on Sky.

 

This sky TV thing. So Swindon has been moved for Sky TV. That leaves Notts County H, Chesterfield A, Doncaster A and Fleetwood H.

Looking at Good Friday no 3pm blackout is in play along with Easter Monday so both of those games will be on the TV but will not be moved. The Fleetwood game will have to be played at the same time as every other game due to the fact it's the last day of the season, which leaves us with just the Donny game up in the air.

How likely are Sky to push this game to either the Thursday or the Monday night? Because that would be a right crap thing to happen.

 

This is why I'm a betting man who loses a lot. Can't understand why Sky have decided against Morecambe vs Carlisle.

 

El Shitico is quite a hard sell to the public.

I wouldn’t be surprised if our match was moved to Thursday. The only real competition is Wimbledon v Port Vale but our game could be for our promotion !

 

Well that will knock a few hundred of the traveling support I'd imagine. There should be a limit to how many games are moved per team. 12.30 kick off in Swindon means leaving Bradford around 7/7.30. As someone mentioned on another platform, train tickets would've been bought in advance for the cheaper rate. The club might be compensated but the poor supporters aren't. Maybe the ticket price should be a fiver to help towards travel costs.

 

I'd like promotion to be won if it is whilst we are at a game. What a let down it would be if we were bumped to Thursday night and we had to wait for the outcome of a game on the Saturday to be sure, when if we played at the same time we would know there and then.

 

My thoughts are once the tickets are released for sale, the time should not be changed. I know Sky don't care about supporters and never have done. I'm still going but I feel for those who will be put out by this.

 

I looked at train tickets and they were increasing by the day. I think at the time of release you were looking at multiple trains and a total cost near £100 for an adult and a child based on specific trains. Now to be there for 12.30 the options are fewer.

Driving down takes about 4 to 4 and a half hours, but you have to factor in traffic as plenty of fans were caught on the A1 last week and never even made the Gillingham game. So for 12.30pm you want to be in Swindon by say 11.30am to get parked up etc, so the very latest you are setting off is 7am, but realistically you need to factor an extra hour for motorway hold up, traffic, roadworks. It's really a 6am start. You could travel down on the Friday night and stay in a Premier Inn but having just had the game confirmed the prices there have also increased from a £40 stay when booked well in advance.

So most just think, why bother.

The more I look at it, the more Donny v Bradford is going to be Thursday night.

 

I'm already planning a Thursday night kickoff for Donny, it's not too bad for me as I work in Castleford.

 

There is a 10.30pm train that gets to Leeds for 11pm. It would be pretty chaotic for those who were expecting a quiet journey home that night.

 

Car for me, too much hassle on the train.

 

I've done the night train to Donny before, Good Friday (the game with the pie chant). One absolute weapon headbutted a conductor delaying the train and we didn't get back till near midnight. Thankfully he was arrested on the spot.

 

I was on that train too, if memory serves, it ended up being re-routed to Forster Square. Made it a right pig of a journey to get back home. We won 3-0 though so it wasn't all bad.

 

Unfortunately Sky hold all the aces, but that would be a bummer waiting for other results before we could celebrate.

 

There appears to be some rumours going around saying that Donny are looking at giving us the minimum allocation which would be 1,500. Will have to see how this plays out but for a game of that magnitude you want to have as close to capacity as you can get there, not 7k home fans and a restriction on away fans in a 15k stadium. It's very tinpot if true in line with what you would see at MK Dons.
