Promotion watch (now with Poll)

Don't want to be just there. I think we have the best squad in the division and I am sure GA is giving the players all the encouragement they need to go out and show it.

 

I don't just want promotion now. I want us to win the league and go up as champions...

 

Would be amazing but be over the moon at getting out of this league fullstop

 

We have the best squad but being cautious on what may or may not happen ............we are talking City here apart from 1985 in my living memory nothing has ever gone easy when it comes to us and promotion ..........lets hope we simply carry on and have no stress at all going into the lsst few games and if things go as planned we may actually get it.
We have the same kind of gap on walsall or sit above them come Saturday then i think we will nail it.

I actually thought that Walsall had got over there big stumble but blowing a 2-0 lead may have hurt them .........god knows what it will do to them should we go above them ??????? Ok the pressure being off but surly more pressure will be on them to get promoted after looking like a walkover title a matter of 8 gsmes ago

 

Their fans are starting to get worried Gaz because if they don’t get autos they know they have little chance in the playoffs ..as their current form is so bad?

 

Looking at the form of other teams around us we are clearly the most consistent. If we keep the same consistency until the end of the season then I think no other teams will catch us.
Previous seasons have shown that the team with consistency will be rewarded, this season I believe that it’s us.

 

If we are to sustain injuries, now might not be a bad time, if there is such a thing. The next 4 games , although nothing is a gimme , are very much winnable.
I would take 2 wins and 2 draws . 8 Points, taking us to 74. If the 3 teams below us all take maximum points, which is actually not possible as some are playing each other, we would still be 4 points inside the autos , going into April and the last 7 games, with hopefully the injured players to return.
The 4 wins on the bounce this last 2 weeks has really helped.

 

Yeah think the same, 5 wins should be good enough, 6 for sure will be

 

Would Walsall play more free if in second or do you think they'll continue looking over their shoulders??

 

Looking at the last 4 away games I am not sure about that. We need a cushion as big as possible

 

Just looking at March fixtures
Port vale 6 games still to play 3 home games against team to the bottom , Fleetwood , Colchester and Crewe away Mk Morecambe Barrow home
Wimbledon 5 Notts and Wallsall in there and Carlisle away, come on Sparky, Cheltenham. Barrow
Notts 5 , Wimbledon obviously, Grimsby away Chesterfield, Crewe and Newport, Cheltenham and Barrow
Doncaster 4 games Swindon , crewe away, Salford away then home to Carlisle

 

Along with us Doncaster have Walsall and Wimbledon to play in April then Notts away last day
Port vale have us Walsall, Bromley carlisle and Grimsby
wimbledon have Doncaster , Port vale and finish at Grimsby
Lots of 6 pointers in there and many a twist
We have just got to find a way of gaining as many points as possible

 

Walsall have also got 6 of their 11 against team in the top 8 and 2 against teams fighting to stay up
Barrow wining at Notts the other night shows anyone can beat anyone
finger crossed we have enough in the tank to get through

I think losing top spot, would be a massive blow to them, they were so far clear
I still think the 10 point gap they have will be enough to see them promoted straight up
They have collected 9 points from their last 6 carry that on, its another 17 points - 27 points for the others to make up would be amazing form
No one is currently showing that sort of form, bar us.

 

I wouldn’t want to be playing any team in grave danger of relegation . They are the opposite of easy.

 

I looked over their data a few games ago. They aren't really playing any different, they are getting roughly the same passes away, roughly the same shots too as the first half of the season...... they just have nobody who could replace Nathan Lowe. He was outperforming his xg anyway but even still, the next up in line hasn't been anywhere near as effective. Nobody has created a partnership with Matt and that's meant his output has dropped too. Trying to crowbar in Albert Adomah as a striker has been their best effort so far but that's not going to get them the title.

 

Huge test for him at Liversedge who are in a relegation fight, lost a 6 pointer last weekend and have another this weekend against bottom of the league, he's going to get tested for sure so we'll get to see what he's made of.

 

Better for him to go there and get some experience rather than stay here for catching practice an hour before matches. Hopefully the lad does well there, I think Liversedge was the last spell Pointon had in his 3 or 4 loans in his final season on the outskirts?

 

Winning is a great habit and after Tuesday nights great performance these guys must be thinking it going to take on hell of a performance from an opposition team to beat us, and confidence must be sky high, I'm sure Alexander will try and make them stay focused and feet oj the ground, we should be capable of beating Gillingham but if we were to slip up we have two home games to rectify it.
On present form and performances we could be unbeaten from the next 4 games 9/10 points would be a fantastic return.
