That table is based on the whole season so far though? Does it consider current form? Current form suggests Walsall won't finish 1st, surely?

They have now publically said they will recruit a new manager “For next season” and brought in ……Go figure?
“So we've appointed Mike and Busted from Gateshead. Later bringing Carl Magnay.
They've left to go to Carlisle.
Magnay lasted a month before going to Gateshead.
We've appointed Scott Lindsey and his backroom team, including Ben Gladwin from Vrawley.
Crawley hire Rob Elliott from Gateshead who replaced Mike Williamson at Gateshead, with Magnay going from MK to Carlisle to Gateshead because Elliott goes to Crawley.
Lindsey and his backroom fired (Some remaon I guess, reading into it further) - and Gladwin brings back a bloke from Carlisle that he's never worked with who left before he came in [IMG]

    What the heck?

Current form, form of the teams due to play, few other things too from their site. Walsall have the easier run in compared to us and the chasing pack, guessing its that.

I'd also look at squad size and injuries as a key factor.

Just need to get throuygh the next week and at least we get a bit of tiume off ............wouuld take 4 points now butt 6 points would give us even more of a gap on at least the Dons and Notts C seeing as tthey play each other ...............just hope we are the team that goes onrun from knowhere and we end up going u comfortably

We certainly seem to get our fair share of injuries, but appear to have the squad to pull through.
I wonder how Notts or Donnie would have faired without Jatta of Mcgoldrick or Molyeneux at Donnie

Next 7 games for Walsall don't seem a cake walk IMO. I think we will be above them come April 5th.

Carlisle (a) - potential to drop points, Sparky sorted out their defence. Tough game.
Grimsby (h) - taken 13pts from last 15pts. This will be a tough game, Mariners chasing a play spot.
Bromley (a) - taken 12pts from last 15pts. Not conceding goals. As above.
Gillingham (a) - should win this one.
Wimbledon (h) - dont concede many a tough tight game.
Doncaster (a) - very tough fixture.
Port Vale (h) - Vale not lost in 2025. That could change between now and 4 weeks time though.

Walsall may on paper have an easier run in but there form is fooking terrible so these so called easy games become a lot harder.

They have over tthe next 7 games they have

    Carlisle A
    Grimsby H
    Bromley A
    Wimbledon H
    Donny A
    Vale H
    Barrow A

A set of dodgy games with teams that may prove troublesome when your out of form got a feeling that blowing a 2 goal lead last week could prove there downfall

Those last 3 are key really. If Walsall win, first place might be tough but if we do our side of things the gaps could be even bigger. Must admit, I'm in the boat of the title would be nice, but any of the top 3 slots will do for me!

These two lads are a decent watch on current contender form.

Im taking draws in each. Best of both worlds. We just need to continue doing our thing and we go up.

This recent run has really been incredible. We hit our stride and all the others have struggled to get momentum. Vale with 2 in hand, but they aren't gimmies away to Colchester and home to Barrow.

Everyone still has to play so many of the teams around them, I reckon maybe 20/22ish points from the remaining 36 on offer will see us in the top 3?

Our next 5 games are key. All very winnable. Take 12+pts in those and we are in a great position. Then it gets tougher for the run in!

Port Vale, Swindon and Doncaster away are tough games. Im not worried about the homes.

Colchester are turning into a half decent side so as you say …won’t be a pushover.

They have Gillingham (a) after Bromley.

I predict no more than 12pts in their next 7 games. Based on current form anyway.

Their last 5 games is an easy run in on paper.

Nothings easy on paper especially when those “ weaker” clubs are fighting for survival.

Absolutely, and it's to our benefit that it's still very much all to play for Carlisle and Morecambe.

Carlisle still have to play Wimbledon, Doncaster and Port Vale (Salford too but they look out the race now). Irony after all their hazing online 2 years back, that entire summer of naff and crap....... to save themselves they'd probably be sending us up to L1! Funny old game int it?

    Tonight on Promotion Watch....

    City vs Cheltenham
    Bromley vs Doncaster
    Carlisle vs Walsall
    Morecambe vs Wimbledon
    Notts vs Barrow
    Port Vale vs Harrogate

You'd expect Notts to win at home, Barrow looked awful last week on TV. Other than that, Bromley are on decent form and wont yet be writing off a play off charge. Carlisle might have some momentum for once and a longer break that Walsall for this game. Morecambe need points and Harrogate probably want a few more to be away from the scrap at the bottom.
