Stockbridge has been a poor ref for a few seasons now

Fair comment. As the game went on it became apparent that he didn’t pose an actual threat to our defensive third. Lots of pretty passing but lacking cutting edge was my view of it. Very agile with the ball at his feet and tidy with the ball so could be a quality player.

Still some negative Nellys here. I can't see us losing another game all season. We are smothering teams, including Birmingham, who are arguably the best team outside of the Champ. Teams just can't deal with our press or then our quality on the ball to score goals. Plus, we barely concede. I don't think we lose a game again this season

A lot of fans looked at Richie Smallwood and couldn't understand how he had managed to play so many games at a higher level. We are getting the answer now, with good players and good movement around him he looks a different player.

Baldwin suits how we play fa better thab Platt would, another solid game from him yesterday. I mean, he probably should have had a red and given away a pen when he was clearly pulling back their striker in on goal about 20 mins in, but that ref was on a different planet yesterday whenever anything happened in either box.

Everyone knows my thoughts , no intention to revisit, however Baldwin had a great game yesterday , hardly put a foot wrong . Two or three massive diagonal passes to Halliday in the first half were very very good . They won’t always be of course.

Certainly got bags of ability and maybe even has the desire to go both ways but both Notts and now MK seem to be pretty wide open in midfield and allowed him to do too much, far too deep.

Our system would actually suit him better as he wouldn't have to track back as much but only if Smallwood gave him a bollocking everytime he dropped alongside the two deeper midfielders.

That said, I still wouldn't swap him for any of the 4 starters yesterday.

He certainly does, although his free kicks still leave a lot to be desired. Having said that, I really liked his corner from the Bradford End yesterday where he fizzed it out instead of launching it over everyone's head. More of that sort of thing please.

Cowley largely disappeared after the first goal and disappeared into a shell once Sarcevic “got to him” .

I was really disappointed with Kelly too . Remember the play off rounds last season , inc the final. He absolutely bossed every game, yesterday he was overshadowed by our midfield. When the ball is ping ponging about at head height in a midfield battle he’s out of the picture and as a result the game passes him by.
You can see exactly what MKD ‘s so called “plan” this season has been … Buy up all Crawleys and the divisions best players and “assemble” them as a very very expensive squad .
Recruit Crawleys manager to boot and it’s supposed to work?

If anyone deserves relegation ….THEY would be my and thousands of other lower league fans priority over Carlisle and Morecambe 8 days a week.

Lindsey looked and sounded a broken man in his post match interview last night.

I wouldnt say negative nellys. I would say realists who arent getting carried away (we hit good form last season then no win in 7 which gave us too much to do - forgotten?). Its been cautious and not raising expectations.

Despite our very good form we still sit in 5th place. There is no margin for errors now as it is very tight. For me, Pattison and Sarcevic have been the difference but a bad injury to 1 of them or both of them would be a disaster and we are back to where we were in December - minus Cook too.

As for not losing again, we were beaten by Wimbledon only a few weeks ago. We still have to play Salford, Doncaster, Crewe, Port Vale and Notts County. Hope you are right but im not convinced we are unbeatable. Walsall and Mk Dons were comfortable wins but the rest have been tight games.

We weren't even close to smothering Birmingham. They had at least 70 minutes where they were well on top.

Kelly started well yesterday, when we barely had the ball in the first few minutes. We were giving him too much space, albeit quite deep. Their initial attacks down the right came from this.

As soon as GA got the team to push up, and almost have a front two pressing when we didn't have the ball, it changed the complexion of the game. It was noticeable that Pointon and Sarcevic seemed to be rotating that role of extra press with Mellon. I'm becoming more and more impressed with GA and how he is managing the team. He spent a lot of the second half guiding Tayo on where to be positionally. None of this sitting back and letting things unfold in front of him.

Spot on. Three of our next four games are away from home. The time to possibly start getting carried away is if we come away with maximum points from those 4 games. Even if we did that though, we still have a very tough April with Vale, Crew, Notts and Donny all to play that month. One game at a time, with Bromley now the most important game of the season.
