Do you think the ref has time live to way up if a defender can catch an attacker and judge their respective ages and speed? Hard to tell if that’s a serious point or not. Looking at that still it looks less of a red than live tbh. That said football isn’t like other sports, it’s faster paced and rules aren’t always as black and white so I don’t think it would have been a shocking decision either way. Matches are always worse when a man is sent off though, so refs shouldn’t be so quickly to brandish cards which he did instantly.

It's exactly why referees have an impossible job and I do think football has a huge issue with so many teams blaming a referee for a defeat as it's easier to create a conspiracy against your team. It doesn't matter what way he gives it, there will be one team that say it's right and other say it's wrong. If that is the other end we all know alexander is appealing for a red card.

 

So you think the ref should ignore the rules and Newport shouldn’t gain an advantage from our defender stopping a player clean through on goal.. Got it.

 

Was silly to let him leave with Cook out for season. He will get a few more for Shrews while we struggle

I think the fact there's no offside should put an element of doubt in the referee's head

The officials poor, that sort of struggle with Shepherd is everyday football , too far away from goal.

Sarcevic was not offside , the linesman made an appalling , easy cop out decision.

Patterson on , leave Sarcevic on, Leigh up top , Mellon off . No other changes required.

So just to be clear, the ref took Huntingdon's age into account when deciding it was a red?

 

What a silly comment. It's a decision of course but I felt red straight away and still think so. Reverse it and you'd be calling for it wouldn't you.

I know it's a forum but some of the comments about opinions are purile at times.
