Yes, we definitely missed Kavanagh in the second half. I really like him.

Not sure what Leigh offers us as a striker to be honest, and Mellon understandably looked very rusty. You can see why he has not featured much so far.

 

Kavanagh was similar at Rotherham. Not even attempting to challenge for high balls and then just leaving lazy legs in or gifting cheap fouls because he wouldn't get his body in the way.

We're definitely missing a focal point, a proper knowledgeable CF who will graft and be happy to take the knocks.

 

I believe it was that challenge that caused Kavanagh not to return for the second half, Alexander said his Achilles was tightening up he was certainly missed.

One thing watching City at the moment is we don't look like conceding many. Shepherd needs to be signed up if possible at the end of the season. Wright beginning to reproduce the form from the first time here. Still unsure about up front though. Yes, we keep nicking the odd goal but Kavanagh, Leigh and Mellon need to hold the ball up better when we are under a bit of pressure. Maybe we're getting like the old boring,boring Arsenal.
