My son thought it was like watching Newcastle in the second half. The passing and pace of decisions was excellent given the opposition. We need to put Harragut to the sword now !!

 

I'm not sure if you watched the game but the last 10 minutes was a complete aerial bombardment. The substitutions to reinforce the defence against that threat were perfect and Rotherham never even came close to scoring in those final, frantic stages. For me, GA got the tactics absolutely spot on.

 

Maybe once Mellon is fit he could rotate Kav, Leigh or Mellon in the role depending on the opponent?

 

There was one 10 minute spell they couldn’t touch our midfield play.

If we want to continue with the pressing game, then most definitely. We can’t have one forward starting every week and playing 90 minutes.

Alexander also said that the Shepherd on for Wright sub was premeditated to manage minutes and he considered making it at half time, it wasn't done to go defensive it was done at he was the only replacement for Wright. The only other option was Benn on and one of him or Halliday at LWB which we have seen doesn't work at all.
