If we take what Alexander said on Saturday and pre match at face value then he's happy with the squad and he'll only let someone go if we can replace them then Oliver leaving should mean a striker is coming in. If the striker was to be a loan then I don't think it's too bad as it will likely be a choice between Mellon and the new striker for a place on the bench so we could afford to be on 6 loans if needed.

I fully expect another defender coming in if as expected Richards will be out for a while and also depending on Kelly's injury

    Has Oliver gone yet
I don't get what he has to think over. why is he hanging around, he is out the door anyway come June .Even if its only a loan to the end of the season
At least it gets him playing again and at a higher level

Simon Parker saying this morning that he's considering the move so not nailed on judging by that.

Oliver needs to go to put himself in the shop window if it's a loan deal because he's not going to get game time here , plus with his contract ending in the summer he's going to find it difficult to get a new club if he's not playing.

Just over 15 hours left of the window and here we are, scrambling around trying to do last minute deals when it should never have come to this. Even before Kelly and Richards injuries on Saturday, we needed to bring in another CB and a LWB and it goes without saying that we've needed another striker since Cook got injured. (Please don't let there be someone that says Mellon is that man because he clearly isn't. He's a loan player that hasn't played 90 minutes for over a year and is here to replace Sanderson. Likewise, please don't try and say 'well Leigh can play there' either).
It also goes without saying that we need a GK to push Walker, keep him on his toes and be there to cover for any injuries but I'm resigned to the fact that's not happening.
Complacency has got us to where we are today. Let's hope it doesn't end up costing us come the end of the season.

Parker saying its unlikely we get Rhodes and GA might be reconsidering his words from Saturday in terms of squad size as Richards shoulder has popped out the socket twice now inside of a couple of months.

We didn't need to bring in any more defenders though, we had cover for every position., might change now because of Saturdays injuries of course

We do need a new keeper though, which I don't think GA has ever considered though.

I agree we need a new striker

Moving to Shrewsbury for 5 months isnt ideal if you have a family to think of. Its hardly commutable by day is it?

He will most likely have to.move again in June.

Probably needs surgery to sort now. It pops easier every time unfortunately.

Yes. But had the comfort of another year getting paid at Bradford and staying in the area. It was temporary. This time he will be moving permanently somewhere else after this loan.

It'd be an extra hour on his daily commute if he still lives in Sheffield.

J.Walker, Smallwood and Oliver must be taking a whacking chunk of the budget thanks in part to Mr Hughes and we've had minimal return. I hope we never take such ridiculous gambles again. That money would've been better invested across 6 or 7 good players. Something has to be wrong when a professional player would rather bum around in the stands or make an odd cup appearance. No wonder GA said he's no trouble, he gets most Saturdays off and can go shopping with the missus rather than play football.
