Agree during his prolific days as a striker he was more a Billy Sharpe type who had the knack of being in the right place at the right time I couldn't see him being a starter in a "high pressure" formation, maybe from the bench as Sharpe seems to be used now ?.

The question I would have about Crichlow is why hasn't he got a move yet when Peterborough have had him on the transfer list since the summer and they've been actively trying to get rid of him. It can surely be one or a combination of:
    • He's not as good as some think he is
    • His wage demands are too high
    • Peterborough's asking price is too high
    • There's an off field issue like training

Hence I said earlier taking someone like that , ie a more or less ever present for his current side , yet out of contract in summer will still command a fee. What we don’t want is a journeyman who last played on shrove Tuesday and is free! We may has well not bother . I was impressed with their sewn up tight shorts centre back yesterday Lewis….They got him from Stockport.

He's definitely one of those "play to his strengths" type of strikers.

I'm not sure we'd play the way that would bring out the best in him.

I think it's to add another dimension. Kav and Mellon are inexperienced but Rhodes could be vital on the training ground. Also, a partnership if we are chasing a game of Kav and Mellon might not be the best for getting the most out of space and movement, where as someone like Rhodes could teach them better which space to use or could be the focal point and the quicker younger lads play off him. Rhodes won't be coming here to start.

And, we are probably comfortably 4th in the 4 teams Nixon said are after him.

Although out of contract at end of this season, his reported £27k a week wages might be a stumbling block to get anywhere near. If he wants to knock a zero off it, I'm in on this too :joy:

One comment? Read the team mates and Dag fans on Crichlows post. All very positive. What was your source?

He is playing U21 football, so is maintaining fitness.

Lots of players not snapped up yet. Couls be down to fee, location etc of teams enquiring. May want to fight for Posh shirt. Who knows.

Absolutely , I’d have said £25k but what is 2k a week between friends ? He’s actually doing very well for them at his age !

I watch a bit of NL with Woking, sorry my opinion might differ with one you are pushing but he hasn't stood out when I've seen him.
As you say lots of players out there, I'd like to think we are being proactive in our search should it be necessary

I think you have to ask yourself is would Jordan Rhodes improve the team and squad.
If the answer is yes, then we must go in for him.
He's an experienced striker who's scored goals. With all due respect to Kavanagh and Leigh, they are not, that only leaves us with a very much untried Michael Mellon.
For me the answer is yes, go for him in an attempt to get us over the line.

One of the best CB’s I’ve seen for a while. Thought his strength, timing, positioning and general reading of the game was excellent yesterday. Kavanagh was very poor, but highlighted more so by how much Lewis dominated him.

Totally true he'd improve the squad but we said that when Doyle and Vaughan joined and we never found a way to get them to score goals.

Maybe my point of view is unfair - different seasons and managers etc just that it's easier to believe that what's happened before will happen again!
