    He's not though imo.
Not the player he was when we signed him and 3 years older.
The Fleetwood away match this season made my mind up about him.
Not enough legs for the way GA wants to play.

I also expect that you have to pay over the odds to tempt a L1 quality player to drop to L2

Quite possibly have found their limit but those suggesting Mullin wouldn't be a coup for City (right now) are way off the mark IMO.

Jack Marriott has a better return in L1 than L2.

Even more reason for Rupp to double down in the last knockings of the window. This is the strongest we've been, its a poor League 2. One more quality signing could make all the difference.

I do not think its a poor league, just far more even, other than Walsall no one has been constant form wise and even they have lost the last 2 with injuries to the squad taking its toll.
We are not far away and the lads really appear to be pulling together and working for each other.
We do need a couple out and probably a back up keeper and forward in, but do you sign a billy big bollocks, who might upset the apple cart.
The next few days are going to be very interesting.

I think it would look weird if Jamie had more than 2 legs.

Cooks injury has coincided with Sarc and Patto coming back into the side as first team starters which has papered over the cracks we had with a non scoring midfield.

We desperately need a striker with a bit more experience and physicality because that useless lump Oliver is unable to do that role, it is madness to not strengthen the front line with 19 games left. We are well stocked in midfield but Mellon, Kavanagh, Oliver as forwards and Leigh as a makeshift seems pretty threadbare and not exactly prolific unless Mellon continues where he left off at Morecambe - but was that a different role he played there.

What would a loan striker be - 5k a week x 20k a month, 4 months 80k. Walker must surely be off perhaps to Scotland so that would cover a part of those wages.

Marriott was doing well before his injury. I think Palmer is a L2 striker these days, nearly 34 and has 1 goal in his last 22 starts this season. Fletcher too, not at that level needed anymore. They have a similar issue we have (but their wages are probably 5 times ours) that they'd probably in an idea world want some of these big earners off the books and replaced with younger guys like we'd want out Walker and Oliver, sounds like maybe Byrne is in that boat too. But like us, nobody wants that level of talent for the money they are earning.

Who are you putting forward? Not many strikers available at this time of year unless we get our wallet out.

Walsall are run away leaders - finished 11th last term. They are a tinpoint club who havent spent a penny and they are walking it. The rest of the league is shite and we wont get a better opportunity than this season to go up.

For the most part we have been in and out of form, served up some dreadful performances and only since Xmas have we looked anything like a team. And here we are, pushing the autos.

I think your comments are very disrespectful , calling other clubs tinpot and shite.
we have a league , where barring a few, anyone can beat anyone on a given day, which makes for a good league in my view, if more teams have the chance of achieving something.
we ultimately might fail, but i for one am enjoying where we are and how we are playing currently and who knows, but for the large injury list in autumn, we might be sat closer to tinpot Walsall

Gardner joins Lincoln on loan from Forest, so that puts that one to bed, if there was any truth in it

The fact that any team can beat anyone means the the league is a competitive league rather than a good league. It may be good, terms of it being tight and certainly will be interesting, but it certainly isnt good in terms of standard which is what i think @Sergio Pinto III@Sergio Pinto III was getting at.

How many times have you commented on teams we've played this season and thought crikey they were good? Id hazard a guess at two or three tops.

How many city games have you walked away from this season and genuinely, genuinely, thought we played really well? If you are honest it will be less than 5, at a very long stretch.

The league is competitive because every team is much of a muchness, all distinctly average at best, some very poor.

Look at the amount of threads on here discussing how bad each player/performance was, transfer window threads at 166 pages because people are having to argue the merits of certain players or recommending "better" players.

There are threads bemoaning the manager, threads bemoaning the CEO, the Owner, the stadium, the tinpot club and yet on tuesday we were joint 2nd i believe at one point.

that tells you its not a very "good" league

He is perfectly entitled to his opinion, i just don't agree with his terminology.
Its league two and very similar to when i started watching in the 70's, the standard of football has always been similar , throughout that time, with one or two exceptions

They've given up on Bamford getting fit and have instead started a deal for Jay Rodriguez too, £15k a week the journo is reporting!
