THAT FA Cup Game

Ffs. I was just going to bed but couldn't resist watching that again.....and then I had to watch the extended highlights again....and the interviews .
Night night!

 

Unbelievable Jeff. And I was sat here with no stream available, pirate or otherwise. Like Ahar above, if seeing that clip and the highlights doesn’t put a smile on your face, you’ve no business watching football.

 

Not being at this game is my biggest regret as a city fan.
I’ve been everywhere supporting City (Caribbean,Europe,Bury)and seen lots of memorable matches,but it still pains me 10 years later that I missed this match.
The fact that I was actually in London at the time makes it even worse.

My wife and I were “relaxing” in a very expensive suite at the Langham hotel on the weekend of this match.

I’d booked it as a surprise long before the 3rd round game against Millwall and was away on holiday when the tickets went on sale.

My wife and I “relaxed” a lot over that weekend so it was a very enjoyable 2 days.

It could have been so much better though.

I was sat in the front row of seats behind the goal, just to the left. A close up view of the three second half City goals. That was, without a doubt, the best half of live football I’ve ever watched in my life. Even trumps watching my beloved Hammers beating Arsenal at Wembley in 1980.
The only team to beat the European Champions elect at Stamford Bridge all season. And it wasn’t a fluke. We outplayed a team of full internationals and won the second half 3-0. Truly astonishing.

 

best ever game.....two of the you uns I was with got kicked out at 2.1. I told them to calm down but they would not.. we were coming back into totally but they totally ignored me and they got ejected.... the rest is history.....best game ever for moi end of....

 

I was sat behind the woman who turned 90 (I think it was 90) and remembered her in the press before the game. I also got a flying hand to the face on the third goal but still one of the best days of my life. The lead up and even after the game out in London was class
