Most trains are sold out until mid morning.
I've exhausted every avenue of public transport from West Yorkshire, apart from National Express, so decided to drive down with a full car.
Gonna park at Chertsey and get train in from there.

The cheapest I found it is for £54 return to and from Manchester, So it will likely cost another £20 on top to get to Manchester.

We did that for the Chelsea game as the Leeds tickets were sold out but hundreds were doing the same, going from Bradford over to Manchester and they getting a special £60 ticket which included all zones Underground for the day.

It was good on the way home as Man Utd fans, Liverpool fans and Man City fans travelling through Manchester were high fiving and hugging us.

Only thing is that is a change at Crewe isn't it??
Wait time between trains is an hour??
I'm sure I looked at that.

Yes I've seen that one but I don't fancy waiting for an hour at Crewe going or 35 mins coming back.
Plus getting to Piccadilly it's a 5 hour journey.
    Not for me lol.
£50 in fuel between 4 of us and in London in 3.5 hours.
Its so frustrating our rail network.

East coast mainline is closed this weekend, hence the high price/shortage of tickets.

    Saturday 1 February
Major upgrade work as part of the East Coast Digital Programme means there will be no LNER services to/from London King’s Cross.

    It’s not frustrating, it’s a disgrace.
In 2025 we should be able to just hop on a train from Bradford / Leeds to the capital without an advanced ticket and pay a reasonable price somewhere in the region of £30 return not £300

MK Dons are a funny breed. They played like heros a month or so back and were up into 3rd. Salford were the same and then they dropped off like a stone.

A draw would be a fantastic result for us this weekend if we then follow it up with wins against those in 19th, 20th & 21st in the following weeks. Draw away and win at home.

Beyond Wimbledon away in Feb, all the other games are highly winnable.

Pretty sure there's some engineering works so you can't go direct to KIngs Cross, which maybe why the prices are up

Dunno, they drew against Wimbledon and then a late winner on Tuesday, they might have some morale going into this one. They drew the reverse fixture against Donny conceding a late equaliser. Never know these days!

The prices were all the usual until about 2 weeks ago.
But I think the trains selling out are because it's the train to Sheffield (local service) change then down to St Panceras, which also affects the travel time.

Nothing to do with it. Turn up and go tickets are always a premium price . London trains at weekends are generally rammed anyway …because they cannot run more services they try to price people “off” trains.

When I lived down south and travelled up to VP from the Cross and back every other week it was standing room ONLY from Leeds and that was about 15 years ago!
As someone alluded to earlier , privatisation means it’s a “ Public Service” in name only, unlike the rest of Europe where rail travel is cheap as chips and prime quality on Inter City services . We digress. It’s not because of engineering work . It’s turn up and go ticket pricing.
