Wasn't pretty, in fact was damn ugly at times but 3 points in the bank. We'll need to step up a level or two at the weekend in what will be another test of our promotion credentials.

 

I sincerely hope I never have to see City play one of dismal Derek's teams ever again.

 

I'm liking Alexander in interviews again. It's clear the lads are with him and we have that team bonding that was crucial to our success with Parky. Obviously, Parky is a better manager but I have a similar feeling as I did when things finally clicked under Parky

 

He's not a wing back period, if Richards had a niggle and Alexander didn't want to risk him starting fine but otherwise defensively Wright is a liability.

 

Somewhat ragged, but I'll take a win, even without style. Too much giving away of the ball -- you can't expect to always harry the opposition into giving it back -- and too many momentum-killing back passes.

But it's good to be up into 3rd. So much for my gloomy summary and forecast in the last 10-match segments entry...I must obviously be even gloomier when this segment finishes!

How nice is it to look at the league table and see us in the top 3?

I really hope we kick on from here. And what a great statement of intent if we made one more, really significant signing to crown off the window.

It'll do, no one will remember any of that game in a month's time, but they will note the points on the board.

Niggling doubt is GA putting Leigh up front again. That needs to stop ASAP. I guess we're waiting on Mellon though.

 

Have a little faith. If GA hasn't given Mellon game time he will have his reasons.

 

As expected really tonight. A narrow win against a team we always struggle against.

Not the best performance, we looked leggy, but 3 very important points nevertheless.

 

Thoroughly deserved win but certainly not exhibition football. By far the better team in the first half and the reality, in my eyes, is that the game could have been wrapped up by then.

Second half, Halliday really struggled with Thier sub, no 11 and I felt we lowered our style of football to counteract Thier rough and ready style. Morecambe look absolutely doomed to me as they have nothing in the final third and Thier free kicks made some of Smallwood's look exemplary.

A wins a win and teams that get promotion will have a far few games like that.

So cracking result, 9 in 11 across all competitions and to Wimbledon we go full of confidence, certainly need to be looking for the 3 points.

Man of the match, Bobby though call outs for Kelly, Sarcevic and Kav whom showed plenty of desire and application.

Up the chickens.

 

Maybe that's a sign we are improving.

 

At 1 - 0 Morecambe were always going to get a chance, thank goodness Walker was up to it, overall I thought Walker was very commanding tonight catching and punching were necessary, onward to the Wombles where it wont be easy.

 

I do. As mentioned GA has a lot of credit in the bank right now IMO. He answered the question in his post match interview and fair enough re his reasons.

 

He said because he really wanted the clean sheet on Saturday and then tonight he decided to keep Leigh on due to his height and strength

 

Sorry can't agree Wright was fine going forward first half but IMO defensively he was a accident waiting to happen, I think in Halliday's case I believe he'd done his share up and down maybe the GPS said he'd performed at his optimum and keeping him on could effect his performance at AFC Wimbledon.

 

Is that one where he was one on one, is so it would have had to be a red as the Morecambe defender was the last man ?.
