Absolutely, no one is making excuses for them, we've had plenty of injuries this season but it is fair to acknowledge it as a factor and not get too carried away.

 

My honest opinion is we won't know until Cook comes back. And we may never know because the team may look different next season.

I do think we have had to change the way we play, could be argued GA has wanted to do this for a while anyway and we needed Patto and Sarce fit to fully execute the plan.

It's a lot of ifs and buts. I'm sure if Cooky was fit tomorrow he would be in contention and the style may be adjusted slightly and it would still work.

 

I could be wrong Dave but this Jellis “ illness” followed by the entire team being ill at some stage last week could be a bit of manager “ spin”… Jellis has turned down a new contract and is being chased by L1 clubs, Wycombe have made offers already?

Maybe his services would have been used better in his natural position, losing 3 - 0 playing a 6'3" defender in midfield.

 

I think you could be right but I'm not sure it would have been at Cooks expense as you say, with more intelligent players around him I think Cook would be just as lethal goal scoring wise.

 

Agree but in Sarcs, Patto, Bobby and Richards I think we now have the ability to get round the bus

 

Yeah, it's definitely down to a possible move. I imagine Walsall won't want to miss it on a chunk of money so will happily move him on if they've failed to agree terms on the contract.

You never know Dave, we might have scored more with Cook playing, sadly all we can do is debate this till the cows come home or next season, whichever comes first.

 

Good player Jellis. The unfortunate side of your team doing well is the disruption to your squad when the good players leave to a better standard of football but it shows you are doing something right Need to have a recruitment set up that spots potential replacements for this outcome.

 

Possibly losing their two top scorers and their better midfielder seems to be the total opposite seeing 5 of ours returning….Its a funny old game!

 

What makes the form most impressive is the quality of the opposition, capped off with a fantastic win on Saturday.

In those 9 games, we've played 4 of the current top 6, 6 of the top 10 and away at a team that we've not won at in a billion years. We've proven we can do it against the best in the league. Now we just need to improve that away form and against the teams we should be beating!

As I posted now we're winning some have to find other ways of being negative, more performances like Saturday and we'll start winning the fans back to Valley Parade let's hope the odd few on here can accept now Alexander has more or less a full fit squad to select from we look capable of making a serious challenge for an auto place.
