Was nothing to do with racism!!! It was mocking the fire.

The gesture does indeed refer to the fire comment.

Apparently though some Walsall fans are now saying a lot of racist comments aimed at our stewards and the good people of Bradford, and the vast majority of Walsall fans calling this out now

Thank you, a great gesture, just like the one with your supporters offering a seat to an elderly city fan, from the midlands on your coaches at the weekend.
All clubs have their idiots, but thankfully most are good people having a day out supporting their team in the correct manner.
I wish Walsall all the best for the rest of the season. Now go on another run and beat all our promotion rivals.

Are we now seeing an increase in scroats trying to get a rise out of our supporter base by referencing the fire and hurling racist abuse? Carlisle the other week and now Walsall amongst others. The one thing about playing in league 2 is that most fanbases are mainly down to earth fans who accept where they are in the football pyramid. Most games, supporters from both sides walk side by side to the game with little if any trouble. As (hopefully) we rise up the leagues, the bigger the clubs the more likely this type of behaviour will occur. Shame really, but well done to the Walsall supporters group for the great gesture.

As has been said above it was making crass jokes about the fire tragedy. Like that guy from Sheffield Wednesday, this is a grown man posting things on social media. He's no doubt going to find out the hard way that actions have concequences and he will be having to find something else to do on a Saturday afternoon.

I just can't believe how brain dead some people are. The only thing I will add is, if you see anything like this report it either to the club or the police etc, please please please do not repost it over and over and over again. I saw it reposted all over the place this weekend when if it is just dealt with without being reposted everywhere, the outcome is the same but many more people don't have to see these gutter comments.

Looks like 2 of their 6 fans who turned up to VP, were taking photos next to a flare, let off on the concourse

Surely the police need to see this ? can clearly see the perpetrators here, someone needs to shop them in

Seeing as our fans are no better with this kind of behaviour, we need to put our own house in order first.

You are quite correct, we do need to sort this issue with our own fans.
The issue i have . is that its mostly away games and how do our club police that.
If arrests are made and names passed on to the club and said person is a season ticket holder/ member. bar them from VP for a few games and if caught again for the season and so on.I have not looked at the image from Saturday and someone will know who this is. Hopefully their name is passed on to Walsall and they act appropriately.
I also think a total ban on the general sale of these on the internet would be a good start.
They bring nothing to the game.

BTW I did see a post today from the guy who posted the original comment on a League 2 fan group trying to play it down etc etc.

I'm guessing it's starting to sink in that his actions will come back to haunt him.

I have, so where do I say it's OK? The fact is I don't and never have done. So what are you going on about?

Excellent gesture, shame it had to be made, but well done to those for sticking up for what's right.

Unfortunately Internet trolls are being emboldened by the myopic policies of certain world leaders. It might get worse before sense finally kicks in.

I think the issue is that people currently think that they can say whatever they like and anyone that doesn't like it are some sort of snow flake or something. There is no thought about anyone else. Just look at all the racism, sexism etc online that some people write off as 'just banter' or 'freedom of speech' and that people should be able to 'take a joke' or that 'I can say whatever I want'.
