Is this going up all round the ground?

Sitting in the lower tier of the Midland road, had to wait to get home to watch the first two goals on TV. Worse when on full blast magnesium white (think camera flash 50 metres long) or florescent red. Was n't helped by the full sun skimming the top of the Bradford end. Wrap round sun glasses and baseball cap needed in future. Wonder if the players have complained.

Funny you should mention the sun, we don't usually see the sun at the kop end that much but with it being an early kick off it could have caused us a few problems with their free kicks, we commented maybe if we'd won the toss we should have played towards the kop first half although its a bit of a superstition to attack the kop second half but I think certainly for the start of the second half the low sun was even worse for the Walsall players.

Cameras need to be moved to the main stand to allow the digital boards to be installed on 3 sides for TV exposure

Sent an email to Ryan Sparks with a photo of the boards, they were bright when Pattison scored and we didn't even know it had gone in due to the lights.

I wonder if the referees might have an opinion and insist they are turned off....or does money always win.

I think it's one of those rare instances where having a running track is an advantage

They don’t need to do anything bar turn them down a bit……If it brings in a bit of income and they shoot that dog …who cares;)

Only asking because I don't know, Do other clubs have them behind the goal and so close to the pitch?

Different leagues have different requirements for run off from the edge of the pitch to advertising boards and perimeter barriers, the ideal distance from goal line to pitch perimeter is 2.75m but minimum is 2.25, for the touchlines it is the same. I would say ours is close to the minimum which is always going to be an issue with our pitch area being small so there's not a lot of room unlike the modern stadiums that are built with requirements like this in mind. Watching the Fulham match this evening theirs is quite close as well.

Another issue for us and other clubs at our level is that our floodlights aren't as bright as Championship and Premier League ground, with the slightly duller floodlights it will highlight the brightness of the advertising boards more.

How come? Are they not able to put them in front of the main stand? Currently we have double-stacked static boards on the main stand side so surely, if possible, we could have double digital boards like Man City do? Couldn't do that in front of the Midland Road as they'd block the disabled supporters' view.

One of the reasons I left the Midland Road. Sun beaming on you at the start of the season and can get very hot. Sun low in the sky at this time of the year even when you have sunglasses on.
