For me i can see the attributes he likes in Leigh - he runs and presses and harasses the opposition defence and in a situation where we don't need to score, because we're already three up, Leigh works fine. I can't say why he might choose him over Mellon because I've never even seen Mellon train but I can see what Leigh brought when he came on.

 

Haha, no, I think they have a chance, and they beat a team in decent form yesterday. If they take points off our rivals in the process, then perfect.

 

But you do keep replying, and when you get out debated on the subject you simply come out with the crap above.

Haven’t seen Melons record but somebody was telling me yesterday that he has hardly played in the last few months. Maybe he isn’t up to fitness levels yet

I accept that point of view, my original reply was you don't get back up to match fitness without playing games or part games, IMO yesterday was an ideal chance for Alexander to help Mellon get his match fitness by doing exactly that to give Mellon the last 20 minutes instead of Leigh just an opinion.

 

Long ball into the space just at the edge of the oppo box and the timely press winning the ball back gains a team 60-80 yards upfield with one pass ! I’m sure I read Man City had been watching us

Looked at the matchday thread and it seems that another bunch of khoonts are on with the racist chants and a bellend with a tragedy mocking comnent on facebook

 

This particular poster has seen enough football in 40 years to be able to identify a good team and whilst I accept that Walsall are currently top of the table, they are by no means an outstanding team.
However, I retract that they are a poor team, they’re not.
City were great on Saturday and I’m full of praise for that. Let’s see which team turns up on Tuesday against the bottom club who we’ve struggled against in the last 2 meetings.

Had a chance to relax and reflect after yesterday. Have we finally turned the corner and become a team to fear?

We have, at last, a team that seems to work well. The passing and moving was great to see. Players on the same page-long may that continue.

We have been building up to this performance for a while. I am happy to have my words about Sars rammed back down my throat. Been an absolute colossus since he came back. Just watch his off the ball runs to make space.

Patto and (gulp) Smallwood are a different level.

Was also good to see the subs come on and keep up the high press. And all the subs didn't look like lightweights.

Yes, we all know in the past what could happen on Tuesday night, but what do I really think will happen now. Morecambe will be well beaten and we will continue to motor towards auto spots. Their is a vastly different vibe around VP now.

Oh and a big pat on the back to the fans yesterday. Great atmosphere and the chant that made me smile-"Can we play you every week"-to the run away leaders was class. Maybe, just maybe, Bantam Progressivism has at long returned to VP?

 

They are very good at what they do. We got lucky yesterday they lost a big threat ackto his home club another to injury. But we were brilliant In the negative side of-the game. Closing down marking and failing to allow them any time or space.
