Er...he wasn't being particularly unselfish at 2-0 when he tried to shoot through a defender when Sarce was totally clear just to his right. Other than that was a pain in the ass to their defenders. He didn't look happy when he was subbed but he had done his job and it was time for fresh legs.

What a performance and definitely a marker for the rest of the season. Like I have said before I feel we have the best squad in the league when everyone fit . Every player put in a shift once again roll on Morecambe and hope we can put them to bed in the same manner as we did Walsall today.

On a side note good to see Walsall fans calling out of their own who has made a remark about the fire. They're contacting their club about his actions and wanting him banned.

 

Of course it is but it's the lazy option to single out Andy Cook. The reason we are on a good run is the return of Alex Pattison and the form of players like Sarcevic and the excellent Lewis Richards. Our midfield now competes all round, our good rum of form has nothing to do with Andy Cook being out.

 

We have one in Michael Mellon maybe not that much more experienced but certainly taller 6'1", I was a little disappointed the kid didn't come on once Kavanaghs number 8 went up, but no complaints with regards the afternoon.

Big loss for them today, he's always been a handful. Was a good battle with Jack Shepherd before he went off injured.

 

You mean the guy who has 9 goals in 24 appearances and does most of the dirty work for Walsall as he did at their place earlier in the season.
Pivotal just like Cook before his injury you mean ?.

 

I mentioned it on here after the Carlisle game, but Walkers trait to not catch was really getting annoying that first 10/15 mins. Was certainly one another was debatable between him and a CB but if he shouts and claims the cross the attack stops and in both instances they got corners from indecisive play.

I think Doyle said something when he came down the touchline, he made a few ball gestures with his hands and from then on, Walker went to catch rather than punch every cross and looked far more confident. I think others might have thought the same because the first catch had a load of ironic cheers in our block in the kop. He didn't fancy that hat at all in a funnier moment, he had one, picked it up, thought nah not for me then immediately had to watch the game with his arm blocking the sun

 

I was thinking about it at the time - maybe it could be a tactic to put off the taker? It was certainly an unusual atmosphere and maybe put him off as it was a poor penalty, too close to Walker.

Perhaps we should all stand up and clap when the opposite have a penalty from now on?

 

Yes his career record in full says otherwise . It’s a myth he’s injury prone . He had a major injury since joining and a relapse of the same , nothing else has he ?

 

Totally agree. It's just such a shame that we haven't had the chance to see them all in the same side for a run of games, and of course now we won't.
Our midfield has been our big problem area for a number of years but now we are starting to look the real deal, even without Cooky. Just need to keep them all fit!

 

No, we're much better with Pattison alongside Smallwood and a box midfield.
