I posted after the Carlisle game IMO we have gradually got better game on game but what we saw today was excellent, once we weathered the storm at their place and Sanderson equalized we were the better of the two teams controlling the second half until they got that soft free kick and caught us cold, we need to back this result and performance up with another on Tuesday night.

 

This is Shepherds weak spot.I think that is the third penalty he has conceded this season,and he has got to learn to be more controlled in those situations .

 

I’ll end up like @shoatsy and @Park bantam if we keep this up.

Fantastic performance and day out, felt like some of the days of old. With Patto and Sarc back they’ve added quality and aggression, we suddenly look street smart and hard working which gets you far at this level. Pattison if just a class above this level, no doubt about it just stay fit now lad.

That's the first time I've seen us, since dropping back to L2 7 years ago, put in a display that, all things considered, makes me think we're top 3 quality. The manner of the performance, the opposition, the form of the opposition, the size of the crowd. We've simply never put down a marker like that.

Now, the huge question to be answered over the next few weeks, is whether we're simply in a purple patch of form, or whether we've actually clicked into a top 3 quality side at just the right time.

There'd never be a better time to really double down amd bring in a top, top striker if you're Stefan Rupp. Kavanagh runs his bits off and compliments this system nicely, but going all out for a similarly mobile striker with extra attacking quality would pay off. It's the perfect time to do it. And if we can shift Oliver, Walker and Odour on, we'd be in the black too.

 

That's a different type of challenge and test for the team. In years gone by, we'd undo our form and positivity by losing that sort of game. Win, without drama, and I'll really start to think we could get the autos.

 

At least two of their free kicks were shocking and sailed out of play yet someone posted Walsall have scored the most goals in league two from set pieces.
