Crewe were ripping the fans off with their pricing, I'd have thought Walsall would have brought 1,000 a descent following with them being where they are in the league but of course the game being live doesn't help.

I reckon a lot of fans across the country under 40ish who have been raised now for 30+ years of Sky with football being on TV pretty much from Saturday 12pm to Sunday at 6ish when the last game is over, they are more used to games being on at whatever time and aren't as tied to a Saturday 3pm-er. Whereas on the flip side, there's probably huge chunks of fans who are 50+ who have known football to be a 3pm game and that that's their normality.

 

Walsall have just announced the loan signing of 19 year old striker Ethan Wheatley from Man U and say he's available for selection today.

 

Me too, I just whacked a fiver on it. I maybe put 2 or 3 accumulators on a season, very rarely bet but had £10 left over in my Betfair account so I'm putting my money where my keyboard is!

 

Sky sports news just had a feature “Top 3 at 3” because the top 3 Premier League teams are playing at 3pm on a Saturday.

It was almost like what they were talking about was witchcraft.

Had a look at their forum yesterday and this deal was having mixed reviews as they wanted a proven scorer rather than a kid. But Lowe worked out so this kid might. The worry a few had was that this means Draper isn't going back.

Bringing him onto the pitch before kick off would be the best shithouse moment, obviously never happening but we can dream! Apparently Wheatley was supposed to be joining a Dutch 2nd division team until Walsall came in last minute.

 

Don’t we all want proven scorers ? The high scoring youngsters from higher divisions rarely come to much fruition in reality , they just got lucky with Draper?

 

I’m at Center Parcs. Tried to persuade them to put the City game on in the sports bar but they reckon they only show what’s on Sky Main Event. So it’s laptop for me. Obviously I didn’t know when booking this weekend that Walsall would be runaway leaders

The thing with Walsall is they are the top scoring team in the whole of the EFL so can perhaps afford to take more of a risk with an unproven youngster than a team like us, who don't have such a free scoring squad.

 

Better make most of it.
We all know how quickly it could go back to being a “chore”.
