We are poor compared to days of old at VP.

 

We're fine when we've actually got something to sing about but sadly, that's been lacking over recent years.

 

We didn’t in those days either….. We arnt alone, it’s the same at most clubs tbh. Seating is the main causation , but that’s another debate for another day.
Even some Prem grounds are like the book section in WhSmiths .

 

If I had to sing for my supper , I’d be long gone…… More like a howl, than the Sound of Music.

 

Actually looking forward to seeing this roll out.

Boys you must remember the tannoy set at certain points of the ground to increase the noise and atmosphere in the ground... singing .......all I hear especially on the 1500 -2000 fan nights was Hey you .... get me pie with sauce ff...ff ing Fred .............and kill the ref and a rather unsavoury un PC song about Joe Cooke and Cecil Podd (dont ask) and the all in Rangers Celtic CHANT.... they tannoys lasted three games I think..... the singing was dire.....

 

Modern atmospheres in this country are appalling, no matter the level. I've not watched the PL for going on 3 years now, but even with full grounds, it was the worst of the lot. That's why we have crap songs like football in a library. That said, it's the generic rehashed songs that are part of the issue; every club has the exact same songs, just changed for a player, manager or club. That's what I liked about Midland Road; even if it wasn't the best, it was at least unique to us, but it doesn't really get sung anymore.

The 2000 fan nights were always just for the fun factor and not for the singing from my days in the 80s in the Bradford End.
Donkey jackets, pies, Bovril, cold feet, shat football (mostly).

But the memories - The ref that got a pie on his head lobbed from the BE, the fat twins, one who got a ball in his mush. Fun times.

Best sound that I can recall back then was the 3 - 1 win over Millwall in 1984. Great night, great atmosphere and what a noise..... although nostalgia tends to bend ones memory.

This has to be up there with one of the most embarrassing chants of all time. I know it's tongue in cheek but every away team that sings it is essentially a hypocrite because their home support is the exact same as the fans they're chanting to.

I enjoyed Man City's version away at Ipswich yesterday; "Is this the Etihad"
