Sounds like their fans are being pathetic to me. Theyre having a dire season though, so won’t take much to upset them

Yeah it's not something that i'd see as offensive. It's completely avoidable if you don't put a shirt on the subs bench to be honest. You could have had for one game only a MK shirt on the big screen all game where the advertising sits with his name and number on a shirt for the entire match which everyone can see as a constant tribute for the game, rather than a shirt on a seat which has a chance of this happening.

I mean, I can see both sides to be honest but it's not something to kick off to the point they boo their own player and want him out. If we had an ex-player pass away and a did a similar gesture on the bench and one of our subs moved it, we'd have a loud lot saying he shouldnt be playing and have a grudge for the rest of his days at City, and we'd have a similar sized lot telling them to calm down it's not intentional.

Tbh, if he was the top scorer in the league and they were top, it wouldn't have been mentioned again after an apology. He made a mistake, but it wasn't intentional by the sounds of it. In any other profession, he'd be allowed to move on. It is similar to the O'Connor armband incident at Pompey or the Patrick putting Lol against Blackpool. I think it is a load of nonsense when fans say give 100%, and you'll be loved no matter what. It is doing well, and you'll be loved, and it doesn't even matter if you feck up off the field; football fans are a rare breed.

2 points off second and I'd say that's close enough for me.
    I'm very happy with that!

Just about to say the exact same thing

Why are certain fans so gullible and blinkered

Ironically he had 2 chalked off that day, one for offside and one for handball. He only managed 2 more apps in the league since that day in mid-October. To say they don't like him and don't want him involved, he still managed 5 goal involvements in 542 minutes of L2 football in a poor team, averaged a goal or assist every 108 minutes in their naff side.

As good as it would be to have JT back through the door, a Striker/CF must still be the priority. And not another 21 year old to go with the other 3. We know all too well there are no guarantees that a "proven" goalscorer will do well for us, but if we don't take the risk and sign one then how the feck will we ever know??

By the time of our next outing we will be halfway through the transfer window. I hope to god our wonderful recruitment team don't keep putting it off to the end of the window, as we really will get the dregs of what is available - experience has taught us that many times over, and it is infuriating seeing this repeated season after season after season

LEARN from past mistakes City, you have made enough of them, and INVEST in the forward line to get us out of this league once & for all. Goals win games. Failure to do this will most certainly result in another season in L2, at a time when our chances for promotion have never been better due to the shite quality of our competition

Said similar last week, we cant repeat 22/23 season when we were in a similar position, just a few points from the autos and that January we brought in Kelly who was benched all season, Matt Derbyshire who was barely doing much in whatever level India is, Adam Clayton who wasn't impressing at Donny, along with Nevers, Costelloe and Bola on loan. Stubbs joined late and was in and out the starting 11. We needed to improve the starting 11 that window and all we did was pad the bench. Rather than getting Cook a partner when Hughes switched to the diamond, we gave him Derbyshire, Costelloe and Nevers ffs.

Lapslie and Khela at the minute again look like we are strengthening the bench. We needed Mellon before Cooks injury, we still need someone else up top for me, especially as Oliver and Smith aren't up to snuff and Sanderson might well go back.

This is when good requirement and squad depth comes into play. We suffered because of that.

Fair point in respect of Crowley, I found that it was an old article, (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ckgd0lwnlngo) he has returned from injury. I didn’t mention Jatta, so not sure why you brought him into the equation. I also didn’t mention that Jodi Jones was out at that point!
Here you go in respect of the two missing for the rest of the season. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c98l8l25pw6o
Basically injuries are part and parcel of the modern game, City may have a slightly different ratio, but virtually all clubs have injuries.
I would think that over six seasons the rate of injuries would even itself out!

Hang on. It's the 9th of January and we've got 3 players through the door. 2 of which could be classed as decent for this level. I don't think the recruitment team are dragging their heels and with another potentially signed I think we're doing OK. Obviously another few key players are needed, but so far so good for me.

    Here’s a scenario one couldn’t make up …could they?

Tommy Leigh scouted and plucked from non league football by John Coleman at Accrington Stanley in July 21.

Sold against Coleman’s wishes by the chairman / owner Andy Holt for approx £200,000 to MKD

John Coleman now rocks up at Gillingham with seemingly plenty of dollars to spend and survival in L2 the objective.

I’ll leave the rest to one’s imagination;)

It won’t be the first time lol!

Certainly wouldn't be surprised if that happened. Peter O Rourke is reporting this morning that it's as good as a done deal and he should be announced as a city player in the next 24 hours. We shall see!

Think you've misunderstood my post. I'm not for one second saying our business so far isn't good.

All I'm saying is that we cant repeat what we did a few years ago by bringing in people over the hill or unknown and hope it will boost us up the league and repeat the same mistakes as before. As you say, still work to be done.

Be nice if we could keep the thread about transfers and any Rupp stuff moved to the Rupp threads

Yep, can't see any of our fans getting upset about a misunderstanding about an armband...
