Michael Mellon Signs on Loan

And there it is, confirmed signing of Mellon on loan

Mellon is a good signing and some intent seems to be being shown this January with no panic buying or loaning right at the end of the window (at least not yet). Let's now shift some dead wood.
One thing I think every single one of us agrees on is the division is so poor this season that this has to be our opportunity. Let's hope this early intent does help get us over the line

 

Let's hope he helps bring us some Happy Saturdays (and Tuesdays)!

 

Like the Mellon move. I think Oliver may end up staying now even if we play 1 up top. As the current options seem to be Mellon, Kav & Sanderson, all 3 are just 21 years old. I think we keep that older head to have around the training ground to try keep these lads going. This is the first time Kavanagh has spent a full season in a teams first team, same with Sanderson (if he stays) and Mellon is fresh to a promotion charge. GA might want an older head around the place to help the young lads. Certainly the end for Tyler Smith.

He looked very good against us last season in our humiliation up there and had a good half-season. Hopefully, he can get back to that kind of form.

Being positive here we are creating lots of chances that Kav and Sanderson dont generally convert...we know that lad can we have seen it first hand for Morcummmbbeey

Looks a good signing this. I wonder whether we were pursuing him before Cook got injured, or whether they see him as his replacement?

City Vent reporting he was all but signed for Chesterfield but we swooped in and stole him from under their noses. Chesterfield might be regretting inviting him to the game at VP now. Sounds from Mellon's interview it was the atmosphere during that game that swung it for him (and the new club shop roof - obvs).

 

Lets see what he can do first. His form at Morecambe as irrelevant as Jake Youngs was at Swindon. Hopefully fills the goalscoring void left by Andy Cook
