Best wishes to Andy Cook in his recovery.

Huge blow for us, but more importantly him.

Been a tremendous servant to this football club already, here's hoping he's back next season and scoring goals.

Would like to see us show him support at the next home game if I'm honest.

You’re looking at 12 months recovery for this type of injury, and even then he’s not going to have a pre-season behind him for next year. What a big blow at this stage of his career. Really feel for the him :(

A great pity. He has been on great form for the club this season and his place in the all time greatest ever City scorer’s is secure. Hopefully he can make a good recovery, but this could see the end of his ability to score freely.

Devastated for him and the fact that we probably won't see him perform at his current level again.

He is the reason we aren't playing non league football right now and will go down a legend in my books.

    Absolutely gutted for him.
Not being wise after the event but called it immediately on Saturday.
Nobody knows their body like the player himself and his immediate reaction of slapping the ground implied he knew it was serious.
He’s as far away from some of the prima donna’s who play this game and milk fouls with a completely over the top reaction to the simplest of touches from an opponent.

Hoped I was wrong but expected this outcome.

    Not sure
Not sure it is the Anterior Cruciate Ligament, it might take a little time to get a grip on what’s what either way he is out for the foreseeable. Really gutted for him.

Andy Cook is more than just any old player.
If you you mention Bradford City to other supporters of opposition clubs first player they mention is Andy Cook.
He's without doubt a household name here in West Yorkshire and one of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet.
Some would say a gentle giant under that tough exterior and a massive hit with our younger fans.
My granddaughter who's four and has only just started attending home games is actually crying with this news.
I sincerely hope the months ahead Andy can take some strength from our best wishes and thoughts for a speedy recovery knowing how much the fanbase love him.
He is a true City Gent
All the Best Andy take care mate.

Really devastating news for both club and himself.both are fortunate in that he has had very few serious injuries throughout his career but this injury at his age is potentially career ending although hopefully not. Hopefully we will see him back next season knocking them in. Good luck to him. It’s is going to be difficult to replicate his scoring rate

Got to feel for the lad. In the form of his life and definitely heading for City legend status.
You'd hope though now that the club have released the news, that will have also be releasing some positive news to soften the blow in the very near future.

For League goals he's on 77, level with Hanson but as he's done it in fewer matches I'd put him 3rd and Hanson 4th. 2nd is O'Rourke on 88, and 1st Bobby on 121.

    For total goals he's on 85, and in 5th. 4th is Windass on 87, 3rd Hanson on 91, 2nd O'Rourke on 93, and 1st again Bobby on 143.

Ifs and buts, but he had every chance of ending up 2nd in each category by the end of his current contract. I hope his recovery goes well and he'll be able to come back for at least the second half of next season.

Indeed time now for that promised investment.

Very sad news for us as supporters, for the rest of the team and the Club - but most of all for Andy. He is a heart on his sleeve character and this is a massive blow at the the back end of his career.
All supporters should keep behind the big fella, sing his name at matches and let him know we are with him all the way. Stay strong Cookie.

The club will have known the probability of this news for some days, if ever there was a time for words to become actions it is now!

Final point, in a strange way this might really galvanise us all in trying to reach our goals this season, lets hope so

Hard to see him not getting 9 goals between now and the end of the season the way he was putting them away. Cook scored a goal every 170 minutes for City, only Wells has a better conversion for the club. Hopefully we see him again and he takes that 2nd place slot by the time he hangs up the boots.

I am really distraught at this news, like everyone else I anticipated it might be serious. Just wish him all the very best and just hope he has the healing gene in his makeup. Best of luck Cookie see you next season.

Terrible news, had hoped for better but there you have it. Can't help but feel for him on a personal level, Cooky will be wishing every game that he was on that pitch running himself into the ground and scoring winners. Sadly, it's a long way back physically and mentally in terms of replicating the form he has shown with us.

His legend status is deserved. He'd have gone on to comfortably be the second-top scorer in the club's history if not for this.

Now onto his team mates to go and win him a promotion winners medal, it's the least he deserves during his time with us.

It's not the club's fault Cook got injured, but it is their responsibility to replace him. So show us this investment, if you really want promotion.

This is awful news for the seasons prospects and especially for Cookie himself, best wishes for a speedy recovery and that he can come back from this. He is going to be very difficult to replace without spending big in this window.

The worst thing is it just prevents him from doing the one thing he absolutely loves - Scoring goals.
For us or for any other team it’s the thing he’s very good at.
I always take with a pinch of salt strikers who claim “as long as we win it doesn’t matter who scores”
It’s his job and if he’s not doing it,I presume it really does matter to him.
It’s what he does and I think he takes a bit more enjoyment from the goals, knowing that we as supporters are relying on him so heavily to deliver the goals.

Every fan can see how hyped up he gets when he scores.
It almost seems to make him a foot taller for the minute or so after he scores.
To know he won’t have this feeling for a long time must be absolutely devastating.
