Can't be any complaints today, first time this season we've really taken a team apart. To be fair a decent side should be doing this most weeks against the majority of sides in this division, just a half decent side would walk into the automatic spots such is the mediocrity of this league.

Ridiculous statement. How exactly did we make it hard work? We were clearly the better team first half and we totally dominated the second. Their goal was extremely well-worked, but that header probably flies over the bar nine times out of ten.

That was a cracking team performance, with some really good controlled passing football, against a team that were in the auto positions a couple of games ago (albeit they were poor today). One swallow doesn't make a summer of course and, from what I've seen on here, no one is suggesting otherwise. There are big, intractable, issues at City, as we all know, and this win doesn't excuse any of them or make them go away. But if you genuinely didn't find that game entertaining then you should probably feck off and support Liverpool or some other top-end PL team. You've clearly shown yourself up as the tiresome WUM that you are.

I get it if your showing any sort of success's playing out from the back through midfield and create chances, but from memory it didn't happen once, I didn't realise it was Dave Artell who was their manager, given time I think he'll bring them success.

RCB must be from Grimsby with the amount of bites he’s getting from his fishing, as silky as some of the play today. A true expert at work.

Spot on. What was also notable was that our crowd didn't immediately get on our own players' backs. (Most of) our crowd recognised that, a) their goal was (as Phil Morais said on the radio) the kind of beautifully executed goal that you just have to recognise as such and b) we were playing well enough to score again and make the game safe. And that's how it turned out. On another day we could have had five or six.

Good lord, Grimsby Town fans giving their side absolute pelters on their forum.

I mean, I agree, they were piss poor today, but they really are putting in the boot

And what about the goal against Salford that crossed the line but wasn' t allowed - another 2 points we should have had?

I think to a degree, but I think they made a lot of problems for themselves and had at least 4 or 5 players that we'd be giving a 4/10 rating to if they were ours. Poor passing, mediocre press, no real ability to get Rose involved.

Obviously we did play our part, but they seem to have a bit of history putting in dire performances and honestly... I think we caught them on the right day! We'll take it.

Maybe Artell was right when he said we had the best squad in the division hehehe.

Probably finish top 3 if we can keep the midfield fit. Looking forward to seeing Lapslie in the future.

They were poor. Very poor. Yes we played well but this wasn't a case us making them look bad, they did that themselves.

Put enough lines in the water and you’ll eventually get bites.

With playing Kavanagh instead of Cook it should allow us to press team more as Kavanagh can lead it more than Cook can, it's not through a lack of trying but it's not one of his strengths. The current front 3 is exactly the 3 we need to be able to press from the front more.

Since coming back Pattison has shown exactly what we were missing since he was injured and if we can manage his minutes to keep him fit I fully expect him to be getting close to 10 goals for the season with him already on 3.

It's really good to see a partnership forming between Richards and Pointon on the left with Kelly backing them up well. I have noticed since Richard's dislocated his shoulder he's not taking the throw ins so looks to me like there is a of a concern of the shoulder and they are managing it a bit.

We've got to start winning away from home or all of this great home form and recent performances will be for nothing.

I think the majority of teams at this level are poor but we somehow make them look ok :( honestly i aint seen one team that i thought head and shoulders above the rest ............your an ok team with a bit of form and you will probably end up going up

Agree about the good partnership between Richards and Pointon. The other partnership developing nicely is between Pattison and Sarcevic. They read each other very well.

    Andy who? ;)

I can't work out whether we were just that good today or they were that poor to make us look good.

I can't recall the last time we dominated a team so much playing some really good composed football. Passing and movement into dangerous areas.

Our midfield were immense today-I lost count of how many times we won the ball back in there to set up a counter attack.

I watched Sars today and his movement and positioning are spot on.

The whole team looked up for it. We had energy and pace across the front which allowed us to press very high.It was a real pleasure to have witnessed that today and I hope that performance gives the players a real lift.

I can see us easily selling out V Carlisle on 18th.
