    City’s league record in 2024
    Played 44 won 19 drawn 14 lost 13 goals for 58 goals against 53 points 69

    This equates to 72 points in a season which is usually good enough for the playoffs.

    Your numbers don't add up!!

    19 + 14 + 13 = 46
    x3 x1 = 71

    The only (full) season 72 points would have been good enough for top 7 since we've been back in league 2 was last season, so there's no usually about it. The 19/20 season was cut short at 37 games so doesn't count.

    If only there was a way of measuring how many points a team got say between August and May rather than January to December.

    Another way to look at it for this season alone, we are one point behind on 34 points after 22 games than where we were under Hughes in what has been our only successful season of recent times.
    We were 7th on 35 points after beating Harrogate then beat Salford respectively to end the year on 38 points after 23 games.
    Does that suggest a similarity in competitiveness in the league this season??

    Pretty odd post really considering;

    a) it's 71 points not 72
    b) 71 points isn't even enough to guarantee a play off spot looking at past tables

    There's happy clapping, and then there's just plain stupidity

    Yes, the highest points total for 7th since 3 points for a win has been 79, but that was before the playoffs came in. The median is 71, but if you want to guarantee a spot then something in the mid-70s is the minimum you should be aiming for. We got a break last promotion from this division when we got into the playoffs with 69.
