Great unexpected result, but we have to keep the ball a lot better than we do. We’re poor creatively, really struggled to put 3 or 4 passes together and either gave the ball away or put it into touch. There were also a couple of occasions when defensive headers weren’t cleared effectively or put back into dangerous areas, one by Richards which resulted in their goal.

 

MK were sold earlier this season. And there were calls for the owner to do so. Do keep up. Happy clapper.

 

Really is a Cool or nothing this team.

Good win but all thanks to one man really. Oh I will give Walker some credit too.

Enjoyed today.

Thought we had at least 2/3 offside for our second but will need to see the highlights to double check.

Deserved victory though-They are 2nd? Shows how shite this league is as they looked poor. Their only threat were long throw ins. No wonder they travel in such small numbers and were overall very quiet except for their goal.

Sars and Pointon grew into the game. The two wing backs also played well. Even Smallwood had a decent game.

Disappointed with Sandersons contribution-just seemed to be wandering about.

Kavanagh was good for the press but that's all.

We had three offside for our second goal. The flag went up but was either ignored or overruled by the ref. It took a few seconds for us to work out why the players were celebrating.

 

The Lino flagged for offside but for some reason he was overruled? Looking at the replay I can’t see why

Cook wasn't offside.
But either way, who cares?
Makes up for the lino being Sunday league level first half.

 

Enjoyed today but the nagging worry is that game was effectively a 1-1 draw with the difference being an unrepeatable worldy from Cook.

That's never happening again, let's face it.

But fair play to Cook for hammering it, and the team more than matched PV today.

 

I can only think that the assistant thought that Cook was onside and another/others were offside so the ref told him they didn't commit an offside so the goal would stand.

I can't pause the video at the exact moment the ball is touched but the frame either side of that shows that there is at least a very strong suggestion Cook was offside. It certainly looks like we got the benefit of a officiating mistake today.

 

Pattison should be starting in Centre mid. He's not a striker and I can't imagine he'd suit the right forward role Kav was playing?

 

Where's the referee in that frame and why does he think he is in a better position to judge?

 

Also makes up for their goal being incorrectly given as it was yet another foul throw by their lad in the build up. He was stepping onto the pitch when throwing it pretty much every single long throw and even though the camera is on the MR side you can still clearly see his foot is well over the line.

 

Looking at that picture I've absolutely no idea how the goal is allowed to stand.

Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth and a Christmas present from City has been a rare thing, but both our goals are very, umm, unlikely in their own ways...

 

The referee's leg is just in the frame on the left of it, he has better position to see offside offences where a player doesn't touch the ball as he's front on. I suspect that the assistant referee gave the offside against Kelly as he thought Kelly scored the goal or committed an offside offence but the referee can see he didn't.

In a great point on just how khazi this division is this season. Second placed Port Vale are actually closer to 14th placed Cheltenham than they are to Walsall in 1st.
