Cannot fault that did well today but yet again it shows how fooking poor this league is if they are 2nd ........as for the red card a real piss poor decision

 

Not sure how that was a red unless their player said something after but assume that would
be 2 yellows

 

Going on today they maybe right

 

Didn't go today. Honest opinion were we much better or Port Vale not that good? Or both?

 

After serving his 3 game suspension for me Pattison has got to start with Cook, once again for all his bluster Kavanagh was poor, if nothing else Pattison offers a physical presence.

 

Bloody enjoyed that.

100% commitment from every player all match, great atmosphere, and goal of the season from Cooky.

Obvious man of the match in Cooky, not just his goals but his all round performance was superb.

Special mentions to Lewis Richards and Brad Halliday who was back to the level of last season.

Port Vale a decent side who threatened in the second half, but thought we defended really well when we had to.

 

All of us at the back of A block in the Midland Road were a bit perplexed with Cook's second goal.
As the free kick came in I thought at least 3 of our players were offside. The assistant put his flag up, then the next thing we know all the players are celebrating and the goal is given. Presumably the ref overruled his assistant as he considered those who were offside weren't interfering with play.
I'll need to see it again.

 

Not having a go but if Vale are a decent side then it simply highlights how shockingly bad this league is.
I actually thought Doncaster where easily the best team to grace VP this season and they only stand 5 points above having played a game more ..............with the right window we could actually get out of this division but i aint holding out for much on that side

 

That’s exactly what I saw, thought the officials made some bizarre decisions today

 

Pointon not getting any plaudits today? The lad was outstanding. If Cook doesn't grab a brace then it would be between Pointon and Richards for MOTM

 

I'll go with my brother in laws views, he's not a city fan but comes to games when up here and Thai was his first game in about 2 years. ' Is the standard of football always this bad? Your number 23 looks decent but Cook looks your only goal threat. Their number 10 looks a quality player but they look a very poor side.'

Kinda sums up the game and league 2 in general. Not much quality on show but we have Andy Cook and they don't. Kudos to Sam Walker for the save off the header, difference between 3 points and 1 today

 

Great game today, really enjoyed myself.
Thought smallwood and cook were class.
Love watching city.

What a goal by thr way not seen many better at vp

 

Wife said same to me.
Thought he was excellent with Richards just about edging it out of the two.
Pointon’s best and most involved game for a while.

 

Bang on regarding quality.
Still way short but a decent effort today and defended resolutely when needed.

With a Cook in your team you’ve always got a chance.

 

Had a very good game but I think I saw the impossible today, a team with a midfield slower than ours. Him and Richards work well together.

 

Well done team.
Thought Kelly made a slight difference at the back giving us physical presence.
Sarcevic was awful until around the hour mark then upped his game and was everywhere.
Richards was pick of the wing backs.
Solid from him.
Pointon had a tidy game and Walker in goal saved us with a great save I think from Stockley.
Cook upped his game today and took his goals really well but the Vale back line was poor which contributed.
Vale as a whole had 2 or 3 stand out players.
Stockley wins a lot of ariel duals, their number 26 was excellent also, but they look very average everywhere else but are on a bad run and missing Garrity so maybe this contributed.
I do think Chesterfield will provide a tougher test but with Patto back and a few more attacking options available, I do think we can get the 3 points.
