I agree with the specific comment in relation to the letter but it needs to be seen as only part of the range of messages or signals being sent to Rupp and Sparks about our club. I applaud what the ISG (seemingly with WOAP's support) is trying to do.

The changes we all believe are necessary at VP whether that's the leadership issues, the recruitment issues or the failure to invest in the club's future won't happen with a single letter or a single protest or fans not attending games. It's the cumulative effect of these actions and hopefully further ones which might impact Rupp's thinking. There are no guarantees of course.

The one thing which Rupp does respond to is the potential to be hurt in his pocket. In fairness to him, he dug deep to help the club after giving his former partner carte blanche to run the club into the ground from a financial perspective. Was this really to help the club he shows little interest in? Probably not. It was to protect his investment. He has almost €8mill of his own money invested in our club. Money is what appears to drive Rupp's interest in the club. That's both a strength and his weakness. Along with everything else, hit him in his pockets, get him to understand that fans are not to be treated with contempt and his attempts at selling the club for an over priced amount may just change.

We have a great opportunity in the not too distant future. Season tickets will go on sale in the spring. He might get a shock when long standing fans choose not to renew and the club's revenues are hit. That will hurt. He may well be forced again to dig into his own pockets to protect his past investment. Having written last March's letter and duped many fsns into renewing their STs with promises of a better future which hasn't been delivered, I doubt very much that many fans will fall for that again. I trust that Rupp and his CEO will reflect on that once fans start to make their intentions known in the run-up to STs going on sale.

    Good letter
Regrettably I think it will be filed in the bin and remain unread
Can't see it having much if any effect sadly

I know its a bit of a soft effort, but what about something akin to the letters from the fans that the Independent supporters group sent to Rupp last year, except this time it's a letter of intent not to renew. Admittedly last time he returned them unopened ( I still can't believe Rupp or Sparks haven't been questioned over that by the way), but surely a couple of thousand or more stating they will not renew will at least attract media attention. The question remains though what will we be demanding as a minimum to persuade us to withdraw the threat and renew.

Agree hitting his pocket is the only way
A significant drop in season ticket revenue can not be hidden
It won't matter tho as ticket sales won't show a substantial reduction and the whole cycle starts again
    Nothing will change unfortunately

Who's this Wayne fella who is replying in the comments. I fail to see his logic that Rupp isn't to blame when he is the sole person who can install the CEO at the club.

I see the good old line of us not owning the ground being an issue when this same not owning the ground existed when we were finishing in the play offs back in league 1.

Last couple of years I've bought out of habit and thinking there may be light at the end of the tunnel. If this season proves fruitless as it looks at the moment I would have to think long and hard this time.

We have to hurt financially by not renewing. Then the sponsors aren't as interested meaning more financial pain. Money is the only thing SR and RS understand - not football. We want our club back and as all else seems to have failed it needs to be the financial route we now take. Please everyone - get onside with this

Ditto. Last season I was adamant that I wouldn't renew my season ticket. Like others, I read Rupp's 'will do better' letter in a hopeful way and fell for it like an idiot. When the new season started, instead of feeling excited by it, I felt duped .. by Rupp and Sparks. I won't be falling for that again!

So, let's assume 10000 ST holders don't renew. It depends on the number of pensioners and kids of course, but let's say that's £2.5 million. What happens if Rupp sits on his hands and calls our bluff? Enough from commercial side and remaining gate to cover rent, utilities and a much reduced playing budget? Cook, Walker, Pointon, Pattinson, Smallwood gone to make up the difference? Maybe enough left in the squad to keep us in the EFL? In what way has this course of action hurt Herr Rupp? The loudest cries last season were for a DOF. It's legitimate to ask what Sparkes is for, if he's not commercial manager and has no control over the footballing decisions, but we do now have a DOF, so it's a bit hard to justify continuing calls for Sparkes to go. Having said that I'd far rather the vitriol was directed at Rupp and his CEO, rather than abusing players and coach as happened at Meadow Lane. The fans screaming 'you're f***ing sh**e' at Bobby Pointon don't seem to have got the message that it's all Ryan Sparkes fault. Especially as they were calling him 'one of our own' a couple of weeks earlier.
    Happy Christmas everyone.

Me too. Over promise and under deliver. Recipe for complete disaster being unfurled right before our very eyes. Some choose not to see it but many will.

Well that's me convinced, I'm definitely not renewing now!

Well whether he does or not read it is a moot point. My guess is that he will hear of it and I doubt even Sparks can give PR version of that letter. I tell you what Rupp needs to look out for are the silent fans the ones who are so p’d that they can’t even be bothered to go to VP even though they have paid for it. I am living with one of those.
