Although be never been a supporter of any boycotts or anything, let’s play devils advocate. If we still go down under this regime without any sort of mass boycott, just a natural slow decline of the fanbase, will you finally blame the powers that be? Or will it be someone else’s fault?

But we don't necessarily have to drown at all. I think that's the massive point you're missing.

Imagine if we were to "drown" under Mr Rupp and his Brains Trust
How would you and others on here feel then, if you didn't even try to do anything about it and carried on blindly funding it
Sad state of affairs but that's exactly what could very easily happen

Then if that’s where we are heading then we need investment , what we don’t need is strangulation brought on deliberately just because the owner won’t invest.

I would really love to see this new business model Dave . To those that think this is a brilliant concept see below .

No 1 question where would we play when relegated because VP’s upkeep alone , never mind annual rent would be unaffordable to a club with no assets

Once we answer that with any certainty or control we could move forward, stage by stage ?

I think at least half a dozen will be able to answer this straight away perhaps, as they seem certain this new future will work .

This post highlights why our club is failing, deluded fans who can see no wrong with the club.

    Exactly.
Owner, CEO, recruitment, Manager and Players are responsible for our position, not us.
At most clubs the size of ours and a bit smaller ie Charlton, Bolton, they would never get away with what we are seeing.

You said much the same towards the end of last season, then you softened and renewed which is exactly what the club bank on.
    Be stronger this time.

My understanding of a wum is someone who provides false information to annoy or mislead others. I told you what I saw and heard. I gave an opinion (IMHO). If that has wound you up I can't see how. It certainly wasn't my intention

Deluded if you think Charlton and Bolton are smaller

That’s true. We may have similar numbers (fan wise) but we have a board representation akin to the Dog and Duck. Either set up as a professional football club of the 2020’s or continue as a semi professional outfit from the last century. The reflection on the pitch is a reflection of the set up off it.

The same Bolton that finished top half premiership years on the bounce under hippo head. I know they aren't the same club now but they are levels above us as a club

The deliberate strangulation isn't being brought on by the fans, the owner is doing that all by himself, possibly even unknowingly.

There's also the train of thought that the no.1 question you ask will in time have to be answered by the current incumbent and board members so perhaps it's a good time to get the discussion going either way.

You said fans need to grow up and accept disappointment. This is a major WUM comment considering what we've had to put up with this season. Dragging our arses round the country is an expensive hobby, but we all have our own reasons to do it, so when someone fires silly comments it is bound to hurt. In fact we have had to put up with the same shite since relegation 7 years ago or whenever it was so we are more than in our rights to have a go

    Anyway Merry Christmas

The one that stands at 19 in the all time PL table, together with Charlton at 27.

The good bit is that City by the same measure (at 46) are "bigger" than Huddersfield, Blackpool, Barnsley, Swindon and Luton

Can you honestly say you saw maximum balls out effort and concentration on the goals we conceded at Notts. Not convinced we did but would need to look back.

There's giving 100 percent (thinking beyond the number, what does that mean in terms of what you do?) , and there's going out and playing like your future depends on it, caring passionately about the badge and wanting to win the game. Sometimes you can always do more, close down with that extra aggression, run more hard yards, take more responsibility instead of passing the ball.

Many of this squad can do a lot more than they are currently doing and apply themselves much better. They are paid 'professionals'. Let's put it another way, based on what they are currently doing they need to go out in every game and give 110 percent.

There is of course the role of the manager to consider here, how he sets the team up, the formation and style of play, how he motivates them.

Running harder and faster on Saturday wouldn't have made a difference to the result. We simply didn't have the personnel in midfield to attempt to outpass an out of form County side, another game where our manager was out thought by his opposite number although unlucky to lose Evans and Pattison. Whether he would have played those two no one knows. That for me is the worrying thing, Alexander has been here well over a year now and I still don't know what he sets us out to do it what his team's to well. It certainly ain't entertaining that's for sure.
