As bad as we were yesterday, once again Smallwood was the worst of the lot

He hasn’t got a tackle in him. Watches opposition jog past him and then has the audacity to clap at his players and point and shout. Pathetic excuse for a captain, I cannot believe he’s kept his place for 3 seasons. Makes me sick

 

Just watched Sam Drakes video. I know we were 3-0 down at half time but how motivated would the players be with sarcastic chanting throughout the second half then being told to eff off at the final whistle. No wonder players don’t want to play for us. And that’s why I haven’t been to an away match since Crewe in April 2023.

 

Just seen them and read his report and to be fair his marks mirror my comments last night. Higher marks for the players i pinpointed and his marks for us i can't disagree with.

Give it a rest Silver, if anything the fans went easy on them yesterday after years of continual underperforming. The chanting was sarcastic 'black humour', it was more entertaining than our attempt at football.

 

Imagine that-sarcastic chanting at a football game. What about the players actually earning the fans support rather than demanding it.

 

One of the worst signings we've made in recent years. The main reason we are outrun and passed through in midfield most games since he's been here. Outpaced and legs feet like he's wearing divers boots. Badly missed Evans yesterday.

 

We seem to say this every season of late, fans are disgruntled, Sparks worries about ST sales and rolls out some videos, sacks the manager, writes a letter in Rupp’s name and talks about going for it next season.
Rinse and repeat.

You just know that Alexander will be given the transfer window and get sacked in February to save ST numbers.

 

I think that was hard on Richards,he did at least try and make things happen,and had City's best shot on target which Bass tipped over the bar.

 

I’m sorry, but in that time since 2023 we’ve been spending thousands of pounds and sacrificing collectively weeks and weeks of our time.
Most defeats you can accept, quietly and begrudgingly but you can accept.
What we saw from the midfield and defence yesterday was unacceptable. We didn’t win a header or tackle in our own half of the pitch in that first 45 minutes.
The damage was done in 4 minutes, but the problems that caused it lasted the whole half.
To not even challenge 70 yard goal kicks and allowing their players to bring the ball down and have time to play is just not good enough.
The players got off lightly quite frankly

 

Which is why it should be Sharp running the show and recruiting a new manager. Keep saying it, but Sparks should be nowhere near the process.

 

I’m all for opinions silver but your comments are pathetic and an insult to every travelling supporter. Maybe if you attended a few away games instead of watching a teenage vlogger on YouTube then you’d understand the hurt better

This season in particular has been woeful as an away fan, spineless players deserve the criticism, they don’t give 2 fooks once that whistle blows at 4:45pm but it is us who have to think about it all weekend, get flak off friends and family, etc

As Rog said the fans went easy on them. We have seen some horrors away this season yet still fans turn up in their thousands. They have every right to voice their disapproval at such a piss poor club

Just a pity the “sack the board” song didn’t get more coverage, but we will wait until Barrow or Carlisle for that….

Fans fault again so what the excuse for being poor before the chanting started ?????‽
Is it down to the fans that we have been bsd the majority of the season ????‽?
And lets get rid of all the negative fans that will work but sadly i fooking hasnt the Barrow game proved that.
These lot are on decent money all we demand as a fanbase is effort thats all effort but fook me some of thar deffending deserved all the abuse they recieved yesterday

All 3 goals were our mistakes.

Huntingdon and Shepherd for the first,
Baldwin, Huntingdon and Smallwood (plus maybe Shepherd should do better) for the second one,
Smallwood then Sarcevic then Shepherd should all make a tackle before Walker does his best Harry Lewis impression and lets the softest of shots somehow beat him.

Horrible, horrible goals and highlights the gaping holes in ability, especially at the back that people pointed out in the summer before being shouted down.

 

I honestly believe with the right tactics and a few decent signing we may have a chance but even them two basic things we cant get right.
I am sure we would all take a loss agaibst Vale if we actually go out and have a go instead of plodding along hoping that the two decent chances we create will end up in a goal.

As for Gent of all the players he has brought through i will be fooking amazed if 5% have been a success that alone is fooking shocking for starters.
He should have been out of the door last season the Oliver signing aloneshould have had him on rocky ground but that just the tip of the iceberg

 

Not sure how you come to that conclusion, if you read any of my posts I've not criticised any other poster for making the call not to renew it's their choice but please don't try and make it out it's the fans who are renewing fault that the club is where it is still in league two, it's a nonsense.
You say fans must do what THEY believe is best for the club that's exactly what many are doing 12,000 this season renewed including yourself and Phil.
No one is happy with our situation but I'll repeat going down the road of starving the club of finance is a slippery slope with no guarantees it will bring Rupp to the table to sell that's if we have buyers.

 

I asked the question the other day about who we drop to get Pattison in the starting team and the unanimous answer was Smallwood.
I replied that I agreed 100% but it just won’t happen.

Admittedly,with no Pattison or Evans yesterday we didn’t have anybody else available.
The fact that he stayed on for the full 90 minutes yesterday when he was so far off the pace shows GA. still thinks he’s worth his place.

It will be interesting to see if GA has the guts to drop him when either of Pattison or Evans are fit.
I very much doubt it as I genuinely think GA doesn’t see him as the weak link in the midfield.
I think while he is fit and available,he will be captain and one of GA’s first names on the team sheet.
