The position doesn't matter to me. We are a bang average L2 side and bar Cook, we could improve everywhere. But for me, the key is a passion. A desire. A work rate.

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like there's zero accountability in this team. There's little press. There's little urgency.

I remember Roy Keane in the covid season, pundit-ing a United game and he said he'd be swinging for his team mates if they played like this. Obviously I'm not advocating for that, but can we have some sense of togetherness? Look at the goals today, apart from appealing for an offside, the heads drop and they march back to the half way line.

Can we have some passion? Some want? Some fight? Some people who want to play for the badge? Talent is one thing, but I will go to the grave with my belief that fight, determination and work rate will win you far more games.

 

Absolutely no urgency from any of them. You'd think we were the team that were 3-up in the second half. No wonder County were happy for us to have so much of the ball, they knew we were going to do f... all with it.

 

And then you have Kiywomya saying "the games not over yet".

It was more done than Ash Taylor in the 100m Olympic heats.

 

So much for captain soundbite’s bold claims that we are definitely getting players in with winning and mentally tough attitudes.

Reminded me of what Sir Alex said about Liverpool years ago. Tbf they’re only 2 players… in each position from being a top team.

Let’s face it if we hadn’t of got Cook who has become a fluke signing then we would be rock bottom. Shocking staff from the top to bottom. Worst run club in the country by a mile.

a - we have addressed the problem areas
b - we really mean business

I am pretty sure my feeling will be one of frustration, deflation and a bit of anger, maybe even a few chuckles because we wont invest a penny, we will ignore key areas, and the additions will be cast offs, journeymen and young cheap loans.

 

Alexander has sadly been largely inept, but many on here were far from enamoured when he was appointed so perhaps what he has 'delivered ' should come as little surprise.
For me he was, and has proved to be, a poor choice but again little surprise with the muppets who appointed him

 

Maybe a stretch but Stockport will lose Barry in January as Villa will recall him. Could they take Cook from us as a short term measure?

 

I’ve supported City for over 35 years but I can honestly say the last 6 years squads have been devoid of any fight, we have had poor squads and rubbish players over my time following us but since ze Germans took over we have been devoid on any fight or grit, even Peter Jackson’s squad gave 100-% but the players we have brought to the club bar the odd few have been an embarrassing bunch of donkeys

 

No chance IMO. Not the right fit. They are a club with a proper plan they are implementing. A 34 yo journeyman wouldn’t be anything more than a short term solution, esp for a top six club.

i love Cook, but he’a a League 2 player.

 

Another 2 today (so far). He might have his limitations but finding the back of the net isn’t one of them. Someone is going to come for him in January. Either a lower league 1 team or a league 2 team that needs goals for survival or a league 2 side looking to go up. And if it does happen, you just know we’ll take a poor offer.
