The one player that came with real passion was Walker, and it seems to have been coached out of him.

Sitting in the Midland Road stand I can count the number of times on one hand that the players came over and gave it large in front of us. Once Pattison did it after scoring at home last season, and once or twice Cook has milked the response to a goal.

Jamie had the feel of a lad who should be captain, and had the potential to be great at the club and drive the team to promotion. Lots of graft and a fair bit of skill. But whatever happened with the contract in the summer (and I suspect GA) has taken it out of him.

My god, I've never seen such a pathetic effort to try and tackle someone as Sarcevic for the 3rd goal. That was disgraceful.

If I was Alexander I would have hauled him off there and then and put Jamie Walker on, who should start anyhow as he's one of the few who will give you 100% most matches.

Funny when I was watching Crowley play I did think he looked a similar player to Bobby, massive difference being Crowley had pace to go with the skills.

I don’t think it’s an absence of technical skills , rather footballing guile , knowing when to do the simple things, rather than the Hollywood , when to pass and not to pass and so on. For those who think I’m knocking, don’t bother, I’m comparing different attributes of similar stature players.
