Sorry to hear about the infection . I got it on a 10 day holiday to Malta recently . Struggled to breathe for 5 days . A waste of an expensive holiday !

 

Hope the recovery is going well. I was in Rome last weekend and had a difficult time, with sapped energy and climbing the Spanish Steps, I was knackered

 

Can tell Huntingdon has played at a good level. Organises what at times before has been a backline all over the place. Doesn't say much for our recruitment that two lads on short term contracts look better than our long term signings.

I thought after Tuesday where we benefitted from a team trying to play decent football that we got dragged into a tussle today that doesn't suit us to our best. That said we were very sloppy, thought Richards and Pointon had decent enough games without being at their best. Huntingdon a calming influence at the back.

 

He made one little mistake with about 15 minutes left and had to dash back towards goal but he had Smith in his pocket all game.

Thought we definitely lost a bit of something when Evans went off.
Not sure about Sarcevic if I’m being honest.
Looks a bit laboured for me.

 

We huffed and puffed and should have won more comfortably but another home win and a better overall performance than we've seen of late, the Notts County game should be a challenge although Salford but them to the sword today.

 

That's because he'd run himself into the ground and was knackered last 20 mins. When GA eventually brought Walker on it should have been for Pointon.

I’m a big fan of Pattison and am still convinced he’ll finish with double figure goals as the last 2 matches show what he gives us when fit,but who misses out for him to get in to todays starting team?

 

Not a showstopper, but a much improved performance versus those games pre Crewe. Enjoyed that we were much more on the front foot for most of the game and thought a few players had very decent games.

Standout for me were Pointon, Evan’s, Shepherd and (IMO) player of the match, Huntington.

Really like the look of Evan’s in CM, his quality on the ball and ability to switch play really showed in the first half. It went missing when he went off, hope it isn’t a bad injury?

In a strange sense, it was pleasing to see us put in a decent team performance with Cook having a relatively poor game by his standards. He looked a little leggy by the end.

Should have been a more convincing result, don’t think we pushed hard enough to put the game out of sight, but a very welcome and needed 3 points.

 

Only thing that kept me going through the game was thinking of the veritable feast afterwards. A benefit of living in Bradford.

 

Smallwood. Start with Evans and Pattison.

Kiwomya saying on commentary that "we've missed him".

Don't think we have. We haven't seen much good from him before his injury. It's only going to be the last 15 games or so that he can have an impact in by the time he's got up to speed.

The combined xG in our game today was 0.83, which was the lowest in England... and there were five 0-0 draws today in the English pro leagues. Hopefully that game wasn't any lucky little fans first trip to VP!

Much needed 3 points and even better a clean sheet, first clean sheet since Oct 12th, first clean sheet at home since Sept 21st. I thought Sobowale in central defence for them handled Cook very well, other than that they had literally zero bright sparks. Just 3 touches in our box today, Walker and the defensive unit won't have many easier days. Notts got a thumping today, let's pile on more misery next time out.

 

Ironic that the two lads we brought in as we were short on fit players are the two who are starting to look to have improved the team, Huntington has been very good at the back and marshalls his fellow defenders, I thought Evans was another of our better performers today always aware of players around him and offers far more going forward than Smallwood, that's not me having a pop at Smallwood but how I saw both contribute today.

 

Boring game but we take the win.

 

That what its all about securing 3 points at Valley Parade it wasn't a great spectacle but I can't agree it was "atrocious" all about opinions I guess.
