If players don't want to get yellow cards then they need to learn to shut up like they do in other sports, Shepherd has had at least 3 for dissent and I think Cook is the same. I've lost count of how many yellow cards we've picked up that have been totally avoidable. If they can't learn then that's a them problem not the fault of the referees.
Byrne's red card was a completely fair red card and there was no way we were going to win the appeal. I still think Pattison's was a red card as well although I think this has some chance of winning an appeal.

We can't keep on going on blaming others for our own indiscipline, it's up to us to control ourselves and stop picking up needless cards. I don't think it is helped by Alexander feeding the victim mentality and the world is against us rather than looking at we are doing wrong.

Are you suggesting the club shouldn't appeal Pattison's red card because they lost the appeal against Byrne's? That's hardly sound logic!

It's 37 games for 10 yellows and end of the season for 15 & 20. If Shepherd cuts out the yellow cards for dissent I think he can avoid 15 but no way he goes 19 more game without getting 3 yellows.

No , i am suggesting the standard of officials, certainly at our level, is beyond poor and amazingly inconsistent , also the FA and Football league are not fit to run a bath

Football is a game of opinions and i still think both were harsh.
As i also said , our players should not have given the official the opportunity.
Pattison's was a split second thing and Byrne and Slew were in a tussle on the by line , both pulling each other.
We have seen this so many times and with similar outcomes , with our players shoved into the hoardings and stands, and yet go unpunished.
    Consistency is all we ask.

I have seen two players end up with broken legs at VP and neither of them booked. Both at the very least were “aggressive behaviour/challenge”

Now we are having players sent off 50/50 challenge like Byrne and Pattison who I am not sure he made contact I also do not belief was in any way trying to harm Bogle.

Gordon Watson was successful in his court case. Osadebe never looked like the same player on his return. Both of these incidents had knock on effect to both the player and club ie City. Neither of these recent incidents had any medical after effects and the opposition gained a distinct advantage.

The referees I presume are working under the EFL rules but all of them are open to interpretation by the ref. We now have to take the ref into account with our game plan. Ref’s are there to keep the game going sort out disputes etc., Clubs can appeal but it costs money thereby hindering any dissent. Plus some rules are ignored. Surrounding the ref as Crew did the other day is breaking the rules but that went unpunished. When the customer sees the rules being flouted then lack of trust and cries of bias soon follow. If we can’t have consistency then what is the point.

Kevin Grey, my god what a shocking challenge that was, did he even get booked.
Gordon Watson was never the same and we lost a player that we had paid over a £1,000,000 for.

Shocking, i can still see him jumping in on Gordon's ankle, our former player Paul Reid had just gone down , holding his face, faking an elbow from Watson, who had shrugged him off.

I remember hearing the bones snap! I was at the match with my daughter, she was horrified by the tackle.

I'm not sure if Kevin Grey ever played against us again. He was always "injured" when the games came around.

That really made Bradford v Huddersfield bad blood whenever it came up, it's a shame our only derbies these days are Harrogate Town.

All this disciplinary stuff is fine but the manager has to lead by example and that is something that is not happening.
I also think our very laboured (aka turgid) football leaves us prone to bookings from being caught out, so again up to the manager to sort.
Suspensions on top of injuries costing us dear in a league we should be p*****g
I still believe it's time for GA to go

As you say football is a game of opinions so it's impossible to get consistency as different referees will have different opinions.

Normally when a player goes into the advertising boards the ball is within playing distance which will be a key difference between them incidents and this one which was totally off the ball, personally I can't think of any incidents like the Byrne one in recent years off the top of my head that the opposition have done.
