Looking at Crewe's official twitter page highlights yet again how poor we are in comparison to other clubs in terms of fan engagement. They've got a kids Christmas party coming up where the kids get to meet the players, and they've got an 'advent calendar' thing going on where fans get a chance to win a gift every day throughout December up to Christmas Day. So far they've had free coach travel for 2 to any away game, signed match worn goalie gloves, £25 voucher to spend in the club shop, free mascot package, free hospitality package and a chance to watch a training session and meet the players and manager. City on the other hand are 'enhancing' fans experience by charging them £1.50 to call the ticket office.

 

I always think of Ashley Westwood when there’s a Crewe/City link.

Never the greatest footballer but him and Dreyer never let anybody down alongside Moore in the Prem promotion season in 99.

What was he meant to be?

 

From memory, I think he was a touch too slow to play as a forward and although he could pick a pass, he wasn't physically strong enough for midfield. Probably would have done better these days than in the old 442.

Jamie Walker would have probably struggled in a 4 4 2 too, though he is a lot more inclined to get stuck in than I remember EJ was.

 

I imagine Crewe will be doing all they can for the game to be played with the form we're in and Cookie suspended. Not that it's their decision of course.
