Since PP left us 2016 we've had numerous managers from backroom staff to Grayson, Hopkins, Bowyer, Mccall, Adams and of course Hughes.
Out of all those McCall came closest to success missing out on promotion from L1 having been defeated from Millwall. However a lot of the players were inherited from PP's days.
Since relegated in 2019 under Gary Bowyer the above have come and gone with similar results each season, except Hughes who lost in the play offs to Carlisle in 2023.
The hierarchy keep swapping and changing without any seemingly long term vision of a blueprint for the years ahead.
Who would you like to be our next manager or what needs to happen higher above? Obviously Rupp needs to sell but to whom? We don't need another disinterested owner.

Think most of the support are now of the opinion that the problems the club seems to continually face are bigger than just the manager.

So it doesn't really matter who they appoint, it hasn't made a substantial difference when most of the previous bosses have taken charge under this regime. Except for that one (nearly) season under Hughes.

The sacking and hiring of a new gaffer is now more about deflecting from the actual issues and attempting to instill enough optimism in supporters so they buy season tickets. Whilst simultaneously trying to remove any responsibility for this mess from those that run the club.

At any other professional club with an owner who wanted to see progress. Sparks and Gent would already be history. Can't add Sharpe to that list, as I've still no real idea just what his role entails.

That they're still here says everything; as long as Rupp doesn't have to keep digging into his pockets and his investment is relatively stable (in that City remains in this league). He might occasionally feign interest, but he cares about Bradford City about as much as most supporters care about his motor sport exploits, not in the slightest!

And I think therein lies the problem even though we all want change. Managers seem to shun us as they can see the issues within the club. SR being blindsided by RS due to his lack of interest and SR also asking too much to sell. We are stuck in decline I am afraid.

It's going to be Trueman until we appoint some dinosaur who once won a game in the ALDI Veterans Cup in 1994

As if Trueman is still here! Once saw a fan post that the bloke would survive a nuclear apocalypse, ha ha

until we get rid of Rupp and Sparks, nothing changes.

Club needs a total shake up. Dare i say it, including with training facilities.

Today marks 6 years since Edin Rahic left the club..... and we are still asking 'what's next?'. Rupp has been stagnant for 6 years, happy to let people handle it for him and only makes noise when his blissful ignorance is interrupted by Sparks with his tail between his legs.

What's next is the merry-go-round will continue, GA wont make it to 2025 and the next in line will have a bounce, and then fall into the same pit we always do. We will get to June, we will be told promotion is the aim, we will look at the teams in the league and all go "yeah it should be do-able next season" like we have since 2019. The signings will come in, some with hope, some with questions before an opening day 0-0 draw with Cheltenham. Until Rupp and Sparks are removed, it's rinse and repeat season unless we lucky our way to a promotion. And the promotion wouldn't be down to Rupp and Sparks, it would be in-spite of their shackled handling of this football club.

I’d love Warnock-if only for the entertainment

Think the fire's gone out with Warnock because of his advancing years.

I want a legitimate lunatic in charge. A cross between John Sitton (from the Orient for a Fiver documentary) and DiCanio. Someone who's going to chase Sparks around the car park and see Gent hiding under his office desk.

I'm obviously joking, I'm not actually advocating violence of any description. But it's all become so very dull and predictable, both on and off the pitch. I look forward to visiting the dentist more than watching City these days.

I think we should wait until we can't make the playoffs. GA football maybe turgid, but why waste money during the season? Who knows, Sharpe may actually have a recruitment plan and Rupp's promise of money may actually happen.

If not we have to get someone good, ideally young or Mark Robins.

It will be Pete Wild though.... he was given the job before. I'm surprised it wasn't him last time.

If we’d got Warnock instead of Hughes we would have gone up no matter what goes on with Sparks or Rupp. There is no evidence that either interfere with team selection or transfer activity which some owners do. The budget is decent but Stephen Gent manages to waste most of that on crap players. To me it’s all about the manager, get that right and get rid of Gent and things improve. If Alexander is sacked which I very much doubt ,we won’t be getting Mark Robins or anyone of that quality but will end up with Pete Wild and the football will be no better.

    oh that would be delightful.

speaking of lunatics, we did dodge a bullet last time with not appointing Barton though

My shout is for Hinshelwood at York, completely turned them around. It may be that York are a better bet than us though.

Might be a little out of our reach but Ryan Lowe would be my choice. There were murmurs of Orient wanting Wellens out a few weeks back but I think form is improving slightly there.

Mind you, we could hire Pep and he'd still not get a tune out of the people Gent signs or get any budget out of Rupp.

The problem for me is those above GA
    So
Rupp does nothing , is the owner (silent) so we’re stuck with him
    Need a new CO
    Gent and Truman can go
Then let see how we go

I think Lowe might hold out for something in L1? If as believed Evans is on the verge of the sack, the Rotherham role looks like one he'd be linked to.

Thinking about all the (permanently appointed) managers we've had in the last two stints in League Two, you have this breakdown or no?

    1. Phil Parkinson
    2. Mark Hughes
    3. Stuart McCall
    4. Gary Bowyer/Graham Alexander
    5. Peter Taylor/Derek Adams
    6. Trueman & Sellars
    7. Peter Jackson/David Hopkin
    8. Michael Collins

It's crazy how many experienced lower league gaffers we've had and only Parkinson and Hughes brought us anything whatsoever... dear oh dear.
