I feel sorry for the young lads who are here. Sanderson must have thought it was a great opportunity to work alongside one of the top scorers in the country and feed off his crumbs/knock downs. Sadly crosses in have been limited even for Cookie so no half chances to get onto. Pointon one of the few players who puts in 100% and gets benched before old men and crocks. Same for Kavanagh. It makes you wonder if the club even uses stats to assess the efforts the players put in. I bet Pointon ran twice as far tonight in his sub role as Smallwoods whole game.

I don’t think I’ll bother watching on Saturday. No way can I see us getting anything out of that game if we play like that.

 

I'd be tempted to try someone like Pattison there given that no midfield trio seems to have worked so far and Smallwood has been ever present. With Pointon and Walker in front it at least gives us a little pace and energy in the middle.

At least this way we get a few games to experiment before the transfer window to give us an idea if we've got someone at the club already that can carry out the role.
