Oh trust me there has been far far worse before this 40 years. Positionally we WERE rock bottom , didn’t have a penny to spend and the ground was a slum ( let’s be honest here) even though we did own the crumbling concrete , yet still loved every minute.
It doesn’t make todays situation any better of course , but as @Bronco@Bronco and a few others will testify it was bad then , really really bad!

I see that GA is serving a touchline ban tonight. Maybe I could go sit in the dugout and he could watch the game from my seat, as when he describes the game on the radio after the game, I sometimes wonder if we have watched the same thing.

There was a period last season where he sat in the stands for every game. His post match analysis wasn't much better if I remember rightly.

Dont worry mate, me and Joe will make the trip worth while, with our usual sparkling conversation , hilarious quips and general merryment.
Well at least until the football starts

At least your arse will be warm, as i believe the home seats in the dugout are heated.

Going to meet up with a friend for the pre match couple of beers, and a cracking fire. The football is coincidental.

Ah those good old, bad old, good old days, cant quite make my mind up.
The stadium was awful, but the football was better, i think, even though we are at the same level.
Pitch was about the same last year though. Quality of pies on offer now dreadful and the price of a pint extortionate

I still remember waiting for the T&A to be delivered to see if City had been reelected to the 4th division at the end of the 65/66 season.

Any word on Rupp's thoughts this week?

He'll probably put out a cheery Christmas post, as he should really, but am increasingly curious what is going on in the minds of those at VP.

They can't be confused as to why we're failing, but there's been no action taken?

Perhaps a win tonight and they go back to brushing off our considerable issues?

No the football wasn’t better at all, those days didn’t exist I’m afraid . At the end of the day it was a race to see who collapsed first…Us or Avenue!

This is a point that has a lot of merit, take out Big Geoff's rollercoaster ride and the amazing team that took us up in 85, after that it's pretty much a history post war of complete utter failure. It kinda mirrors the decline of the city itself, I know there are folk in the media bigging us up as some big fish in a little pond with this mythical potential but in reality we're just a bog standard lower league club with no real unique selling point. We don't anywhere near the history of lots of other clubs in the Northern football heartlands, in fact the condition of Valley Parade pre fire is a good indicator of a club pretty much unloved over the decades.

The Fleur-de-Lys pies circa mid 80s were definitely better

That's sounds about right but should we continue to use our past to define our future. As @Rogered Tart@Rogered Tart posted above, he alludes to GR but should either example be used to assess this version of Bradford City in 2024?

All many( if not all) of us want is a progressive Bradford City, one that entertains, makes us proud to rock up each game and that starts at the summit to every player.

I'll be watching from Ukraine tonight. I'm probably safer than Alexander will be in the crowd should we lose again

    Home win.

Something has to click sooner or later right?

I may have used these exact words previously.
    And often.
