As @Inspector has mentioned before. The story by all accounts was that Alexander was going to become the Grimsby manager but when Danny Cowley turned us town he got the call. Cant remember if Cowley turned us down before or after Karl Robinson? Seemed to be a rumour switch between us, Grimsby, Salford and Colchester all rotating between GA, Artell & Cowley on a daily basis almost.

I cant remember how the family knew him, but I remember a mate of mine at the time put in our group chat that Leam Richardson was some kind of family acquaintance and had said he had an interview at City at the time too. He said Leam had the interview then heard nothing at all for weeks after.

 

It’s a shame Robinson ruled himself out. He likes to play good attacking football.

 

Let’s face it we are unprofessional in how we interview and appoint managers.

 

When a prospective manager has a list of twelve questions and only receives three clear answers, they tend to walk away.

 

Apparently plans for development of training facilities, academy expansion, high league planning etc, would only be revealed on acceptance of position

Well there you have it in a nutshell. No wonder we are going nowhere. We don’t have a plan, and any manager who accepts the post after an interview like that want their bumps reading. Of course they need to know what the plan is and the structure of the club.

So basically we are recruiting a coach on managers wages!

I trust @Interested Bystander who has been a welcome friend on these board for many a long year. He is one of the ones unlikely to spread fake rumours just to wind ppl up. Beside’s he is not the first to suggest how unprofessional we are at interviewing and selecting managers.

 

We can all agree by definition the actual decision may be flawed , how many on this forum have actually witnessed a BCAFC manager interview ……Do you want to have a guess ? You are taking this a tad too seriously . It wasn’t a fake rumour , he was being somewhat cynical like we all are at the moment, and so it continues … .
