I mean, what to say. Surprised we had to wait until today for such news, rather than have it announced on the 4th anniversary of our current CEO's appointment.

Social media is quite rightly telling the club what they think.

    ... per ticket!

I'm looking forward to an explanation of how exactly the ticketing experience will be improved with the new price. More marketing BS from the CEO and his Director of Ticketing and Supporter Services!

The supporters board will give him a grilling at the next meeting.

    Probably.

A quick search through some other teams, it seems a lot do charge for this although most seem to be slightly cheaper, Huddersfield is £1.25 online and £1.50 over the phone. As much as its a cost i'd rather not see i also see that at the end of the day City is like any other business and that as we have no benefactor money has to be raised by any way they can as costs across business in general have gone up for everything. Would have been better that they hadn't posted it under 'better customer experience' though. Just be honest with us.

Lets be honest it's the optics of this. "To improve the overall ticketing experience for supporters, we're introducing a telephone booking fee of £1.50 per ticket" is just trolling people. It's tone deaf and the kind of response that comes down from the top of the club.

Just be honest and say, due to increasing costs Bradford City will now have to levy a £1.50 charge per ticket on all telephone bookings. Trying to make out you are doing someone a favour by charging them more is the kind of crap we expect from the current running of the club.

Adding a charge is pretty common place, it’s the manner of the comms that is the problem. Like much of our PR it’s a disaster.

If they just said it was to fund a line more capable of handling calls, or to drive customers to use the online solution freeing up the ticket office to handle genuine queries more effectively there’d be far less of a stink being kicked up.

Don’t do ourselves any favours at all sometimes

Who's made this decision Ticketmaster or the Club?

from the sounds of it, it just seems to me that upon a supporter phoning the club for ticket, the club have simply being logging in , and purchasing a ticket from ticketmaster and likely thus incurring the £1.50 fee that those fans buying tickets online have to pay.

upto now it seems like they have just being paying that difference (likely due to the fact it would be minimal) however have now had a review and decided to pass the charge back to the fan purchasing over the phone.

I dont think the club have or are doing anything wrong here per se, rather its just a very ill thought out accompanying statement that they have provided.

The club. It's just for phone orders, basically you are paying for the ticket office staff member to log onto Ticketmaster for you whilst they do the order over the phone, it seems.

A others have said, it's common place really and they are moving the online sales fee they tot up from online sales onto the purchaser. But in a City standard way, it's really poorly worded and PR is a joke.

I guess some people called the ticket office as a way of circumventing paying the booking fees online.
They’ve closed that loophole now and rightly so.
In my opinion it should actually cost more in fees to ring up or visit the ticket office because you are putting workload on people rather than booking online.

Keep up Hooch. It isn't a 'ticketing service'; it's a 'ticketing experience'! If you don't understand the difference, drop a line to Marco Townson, the club's Director of Ticketing and Supporter Services. I'm sure he'll find time to explain it to you

Just include the price within the price of the ticket and problem solved.

Out of interest were the supporters board warned about this in their lip service meetings to try and make it look like supporters are being represented?

Wouldn't really work for away tickets I don't think. They aren't our tickets, we don't set the price, and we don't get the money, or something like that.
