I think the snow will clear when it turns to rain, it is going to be relatively warm. Just the usual issue of where does all the water go at VP

Think in this case the game should be off
The pitch got ruined for the rest of season last year
Let’s not have the pitch contributing to even more dross performances

Well raining here in Guiseley now and turning to slush but the pitch will get massacred if it’s played on today. Just call it off so we don’t play on a quagmire for the rest of the season.(AGAIN!!)

Wonder if either of the Accy fans will risk it?

Sounds like it’s turning to rain here too. Forecast looks pretty grim for the rest of the day. Call it off. Just one game after a day long downpour ruined the pitch last year. Bit weird though, if it is called off will mean no home league game in November.

Its the refs choice, nothing the club can do

Similar thing happened in 2022, we played 1 home game between Oct 29th and Dec 29th because of the weather and pitch.

It'll be clear by 2pm, if not much before.

No Steve it shows your lack of knowledge of how a game is called off and why …..Simple as that really. I won’t bother explaining any further.

I'm on the hills and there's no way i'm getting out in the car. And even if I could i imagine the roads will be chaos. I imagine there'll be others in a similar boat.

I think it's best all round for the sake of travelling fans and the longevity of the pitch that the game is called off.

I'd be surprised if it's on.

Either way it will cost the club if on or off
Be no fans at the ground
If called off they pay compensation to accy

The temperature is due to rise to 13 degrees by 3pm. I've been for a walk, it's raining and everything is turning to slush. A bigger risk is a waterlogged pitch if they've not covered it.

The clubs twitter account is posting this morning on the basis that the game is on, including directing people to discounted travel options. So either they're not worried about the game or safety element, or they're incompetent. Could be either tbf

Good point about the pitch. We don't want to ruin the surface and obstruct our free flowing, beautiful game.... ;-)

Rain will melt the ice along with temperature around 8° and more from 11am onwards
    Ice won't be a problem

    Exactly.
Our crap pitch last year was obviously the main reason we failed to finish in the top 7.

It raises again the question of covers. Rain is tailing off by 3pm. No doubt there are products out there but as has been mentioned before, I think our problem is getting rid of the water that runs off the covers

Problem is that the referee won't postpone a game based on what might happen to the pitch in future months unless he is given permission by the EFL. If the pitch is playable and the surrounding areas of stadium are safe then it'll be game on.

I'd imagine all of the snow will either be already cleared off the pitch or they'll be well on with it to stop all of that melting on the pitch. Then it's just down the hoping the drainage doesn't get overwhelmed and forking the pitch as much as possible.
