Players Out of Contract in June

    There are not many players out of contract next June. The ones I think are:

    Sam Walker
    Lewis Richards
    Callum Johnson
    Clara Kelly
    Ritchie Smallwood
    Jamie Walker
    Sam Stubbs
    Vadaine Oliver

    Which ones, if any, do you think we should be offering a new contract to?

    None of them offer the productivity needed for promotion, so all can go. I like Jamie Walker, but said he lacked the goals and assists needed when Pattison came in and I said he’d replace him, to which some defended Jamie. Unfortunately Pattison is a walking sick note so it didn’t materialise, but neither did Jamie’s goals and assists.

    The rest are just plain crap and yes that includes super Sam Walker in goal.

    Smallwood will be offered a new contract before then. J Walker sold in January for an undisclosed (small) fee and some of the money "invested" in the squad at 10pm on 31st Jan.

    The main issue for me is do we have any faith that any leavers will be replaced by better players, given our recent track record.

    GA signed Huntington but has played a RB at CB instead. Such a bizarre signing. Understood the Evans one but surprise surprise, injured.

    Will be joined by loans/short term contracts, most will not return:

    Additionally there are the homegrown youth in the squad (but not featuring), who may go:
    Hadi
    Wadsworth
    Ibbitson

    With a full squad of 29, then 18 who may not be part of next seasons set up is virtually two thirds.

    I would guess that Johnson (who?), Stubbs and Oliver will certainly not be at VP in July 2025.

    As for the other five, expect three to stay and two to go. I guess that if they can get two year contracts with another club, they will leave.
