Mark Robins - now he could do a job - at least he won’t keep flip flopping like this clown

Interesting listen and not over promising. Good to hear he's questioned the owner about having our own training facility as he can see the benefit of that. He might quickly come to the realisation that we haven't a pot to pee in. Also interesting that we still pay for Adams until January. Maybe the money saved on the remainder of his 6 month loan can go toward shipping the deadwood from our squad.

All the talk of cutting squad size really backfired, and that interview underscores some of the naivety at the club.

Hughes made sure we had strength in depth and guided us to the playoffs.

Sharpe has come in and alongside Graham Alexander, they've weakened us.

No ifs, buts or maybes - we're worse now, and realistically the transfer strategy is at the heart of that.

It sounds like we'll be bringing in mostly loans in January to fill in the gaps we've created.

Hughes is the only manager in a long line of failures that has delivered us some remote success. People need to get over that Carlisle second leg substitution and just admit Carlisle wanted it more than us on the day. Unbelievable that as soon as it got a bit wobbly, the inept Sparks shat himself when the fans turned on him during the Tranmere game and bulleted Hughes. In hindsight Hughes gave us one of the best seasons i've ever had following City on the road - think we achieved 11 or 12 away wins?? Compare that to the utter shite since, losing regularly to the likes of Harrogate

That's pretty much how I see it. There were frustrations in the Hughes season for sure, but we were always on the fringes the autos, albeit always likely to fall just short.
However, we had some fantastic away days and we were always in the mix for promotion. Compare that to what we have now and we are miles away, with a clueless manager who seems to have no plan at all.

Ha ha no I'm not quite saying that, but I did enjoy that season a hell of a lot more than this one! GA was the wrong appointment from Day 1 imo, and only got the gig because pretty much nobody else wanted it! For me he's just a journeyman lower league manager whose style of football is a perfect cure for insomnia!

I wish. Robins is way out of our league.

There was that other nugget as well about only signing players that can play 50 games a season.
    That worked out well then.

Oh he can see the benefits of us having our own training ground then? Something I have been going on about for years.

Steve Evans was sat in the dug out last night why would he need the pressure of being the Bradford City manager.

Because the Bradford City job is bigger than Rotherham and he’s always had a desire to manage us.

Me and @Rogered Tart@Rogered Tart were discussing the Robin's scenario yesterday and there's no doubt he did a great job at Coventry but would it be another sack the present manager new man comes in doesn't fancy half the squad and we end up with a similar situation we've had for the last 6 or so seasons, I can't see Alexander getting the sack.

I don't think we should sack him. Unless we miss out on the playoffs he should be given the season.

He's shown that at times it can be shit, but he gets results. If we sack him, we aren't getting Robins....

I think that is the self enforced quandary we find ourselves in and will continue to do so for some time to come.

what do they say about the definition of madness, being repeating the same mistakes over and over again and expecting a different result. Well thats were we are, and we cant keep sacking managers.

    However.....

Alexander is repeating those same mistakes, week in and week out and expecting different results, and guess what we arent getting them

so there we are, stuck at catch 22. One way or another we are going to have to keep making the same mistake, be it moving alexander on after an unproductive 12 months or sticking by Alexander and hoping one of his streaky win spells is suffice for 7th place

We'll never know if Hughes was the answer though will we, cos Sparks sacked him to save his own face. Snake

Name another manager who delivered relative success since Stuart's play-off loss to Millwall

Sadly I think you're right Idle.
However Ryan Lowe or Gary Rowett aren't.
GA (as I've said before) is on very thin ice.
Switching Halliday and Oduor round last night, persisting with 'no show' Oliver & Smith was nothing short of ludicrous.
    Think he's lost it.
