Next season. Autos already gone. 2 from 3 coming down will go straight back up. We'll be bottom half and avoid relegation by 5 points three games before the end of the season. Grayson will not stay on.

gary jones, matt duke, garry thompson, nathan doyle, jon stead, andrew davies, zavon hines to name a few past players who arent or didnt go to a higher level. marshall was on peanuts due to prior misbehaviours and we were the only club that would take him at the time and we also offered him a fecking good offer but he left for family reasons.

Recruitment is going to be hard with some big clubs coming down they will look to spend and mop up the ones that will stand out as big signings. Spending the cash has been successful for all promoted teams last few years

Saying that Sunderland May look to consolidate they have massive wage bills and overheads although they will be well backed by their fans
Poetic if we both went up next year with us as champs of course

Bolton would struggle financially and Burton would just blend back into the league in more worried if Barnsley come down they seem to buy or develop good players and they will be dangerous next year

Throwing money at a problem doesn’t always help.. I won’t even bother talking about Bury...

Take Sheffield United it took them 6/7 years to get out of league one and they had big budgets every year.. we need to spend the money properly.. it doesn’t take much to get out of this league.. as I’ve said previously hard work in this league gets you far.. as shown in our last few games we’ve hardly played well and managed to come out on top!!

Next season is going to be arguably the weakest it’s been since we’ve been back in so it’s a massive opportunity

Got off my ship in Falmouth on a 72 hour pass, had a swill in town, got the train to Truro, then decided to get a train north to Bradford via Bristol/ Manchester, as it turned out not a good idea. Got woken by a cleaning lady around 6am, asked where I was, Bristol, she said. Eventually the train rolled into the station, then off North to Manchester via God knows where. Got to Bradford around 2pm. Thank God my ship was now underway to Chatham so got some extra leave time & then off to London etc. As for City will we ever get to know what happened in January that caused the meltdown.

I know Chatham well (As an Ex RE ;))
And good on you, for 'enduring' your plight.
In Winter '78, I enjoyed 3 days (R&R) with my girl in Manchester ............... But the snow fell heavily. Eventually, 2 days later, I was able to fly back to Belfast via Yeadon airport. Great to have 2 extra days, but less snow in N I.
Just my luck !! That's what happens in a portacabin, with no glass in the windows at Aldergrove Airport, I soon spent 6 days in MRS with Flu !!

Next season... feck all, languishing on the shit side of mid-table. Can't see us strengthening the squad and this team is only just capable of beating the drop.

Edin's final chance for me. He has to get it right this summer regarding the manager and transfers. If he does then despite what's gone on this season, I'll give him another chance. But if he gets it wrong, again, then I'm not sure how anyone can defend him.

If Grayson goes it's because we don't have a budget to compete. Having realised the way these are not only work but also so arrogant they will not change their ways. Word will be out amonst players and managers and only the desperate will want to come. A relegation fight is in view for next season but it's ok were just lucky to have a club to support..... for the time being

You are quite right on this but you seen to have missed off the 170million pound debt they have accrued. The banks are chasing the club and short will sell for a quid as long as the new buyers take on the debt. There hasn't been half the renewals from last season as yet and every prospective buyer have gone without trace due to the debt. They will be a threat like Bolton were when they were in this league but I assure you they won' be spending much in this league.

I don't really know what to expect anymore!

I was cautiously optimistic when the new owners came in; the right things were said, the overall plans were reasonable, and given where we were, the idea of promotion (with)in three years was also reasonable.

I still think that being self-sustaining is something to aim for, though debt is not in itself bad provided it can be managed. And infrastructure certainly needed upgrading; I would expect to see that continue.

But, in general, the phrase "fine words butter no parsnips" comes to mind; so does "too much too soon." For instance, getting younger and cheaper is not all bad, but some veteran depth should still be kept. Our injury problems this season highlighted that; having a Darby or a McArdle ready to step in would have been helpful.

Like others have posted, this summer is crucial for hte club and owners. If lessons have been learnt -- a very big if -- next season may well be good. If not, I think mid-table will be the height of our achievements, and I really would be worried about relegation.

Looking at the situation now, both of those requirements should be achievable. If Larry stays, it will send the message he has a workable budget. If he goes, I fear a Chesterfield scenario.
