Agree but if I had a £1 the times we read clubs “ Have a plan” I’d be rich. Carlisle have a plan, MKD have a plan and continue to fall down the leagues even though they have pots of cash?

There are no lies unless you can point to one that doesn’t include “ Competitive” , rather it’s peoples misinterpretation and misunderstanding of “ Spin” just because it makes em feel better.

We have done this to topic death, yet nothing changes.

Sadly after a few results they magically think our recruitment has been good yet again when in reality its been poor ..............our whole season revolves around the fitness of two players and that should have been sorted out in the summer ............inreality we have one striker who will probably out score the rest put together and unless the midfield step up and the defence get involved which they have then frankly we are in for another season where yetagain recruitment has let us down.

He wasa bit better and i bet there was a few howlers in there but hey lets put that under the carpet ...........in my opinon he was a keeper who made the odd great save but couldnt get the basics right which we need at this level ..............hes a confidence keeper and he probably thrived here because he was a favourite with the fan compared to now where the lad is an accident waiting to happen week after week.................wasnt our first goal against Carlisle down to his poor distribution ???.?

I am in favour of plain English or Yorkshire. I consider a lot of PR deliberately manipulative. It destroys trust in the spoken word. Come March I doubt very much that I will renew my ST. I do hope the club gets promoted but I have lost all trust in them. They are not bothered and will continue their PR clap trap.

As Steve said best to leave it there as it isn't a Harry Lewis thread and he's no longer our player, but history is absolutely been changed here because most would agree that he was our player of the season after Andy Cook that season. Heck most literally said so on this very forum, but I know it's not cool to still like previous players if they move on.

He certainly was our best player behind Cook that season. We were a very average team with a brilliant keeper and striker which was nearly enough in this poor league. The following season he was becoming a liability, his confidence issues have become more clear at Carlisle. I’m suprised he’s never been dropped there, they’ve already dropped star signing Wyke

It is plain English , it’s how WE as fans interpret them…..That’s the issue.

Define a “ Competitive footballing budget” . Fans ASSUME that meaning wrongly from first to last word .

Why on earth would we need to do that when he is contracted to June 2026? Or are you on about a kid that can be nurtured into a long term replacement like they thought would happen with Kav?

They would still have to do that whoever was wing back Kev. It's the nature of the position and the reason you have an extra centre half.

Unless you want them to remain very negative and play with almost a flat back 5 like under Hughes with Halliday and Ridhalgh at wing back.

For me, it's a much more effective system with at least one offensively minded wing back but you do need a strong back 3 and imo that's where we've let ourselves down.

If only having ‘a solid plan’ was a blueprint to guaranteed success. Blah blah blah.
Did we have a ‘solid plan’ in any of our 5 promotion seasons in our entire history or did we just get lucky in those particular seasons?

Where have I said anyone is bashing him? Only Steve used the word bashing in response to one of my posts.

Yes, could be but then GA needs to sort out a plan because our attacking game plan is based on LWB and RWB being high up the pitch and putting crosses in and so they will get caught up the pitch.

What I also see though is space between the three centre backs that forwards on midfielders run into and take shots - like Miller did the other night. Part of solving that is being better/faster at throw-ins and corners but there also seems to be a lot of space in and around our centre backs.

You don't think we had a solid plan for the 99 promotion?

Richmond is on record saying that he sat down with Jewell and the Rhodes' and decided the division was weak so this was a great time to invest in the playing side and have a real go at promotion.

I obviously aren't privy to what exactly they put in place but it's very clear that there was a plan whilst GR owned the club.

I agree and I think it's because Smallwood is isolated at times. I think this season there might be times where we'd be better being pragmatic and having someone alongside Smallwood rather than having the two playing in front.

Cook gets injured and we are knackered in my opinion. We need some real competition for him, someone to step in when his form dips or injury strikes and yes someone a little younger who will still be around in 2 years when Cook leaves.
    Planning and Bradford City !
I do not think any of the current strikers are the answer.

If we had real competition for Cook at the club and he was a little bit younger he'd have already been sold.

The club absolutely won't invest so we're stuck with the current lot and praying that GA can somehow extract enough from them.

Its not just him getting an injury though a competition for his place may have him more on his toes but there isnt and that to me is another issue ............not saying Cook is that sort of player though
