I am going on the fact that Stevenage had done all their deals, and the Young signing was very last minute, and I got the impression that if the terms were not what Stevenage wanted, the deal was off,and we would have been left with a player we did not want.If you have any information to the contrary,I will gladly hold my hand up and say I was wrong.

Only the manager repeatedly saying he wanted him to stay. So who didn’t want him? Or was it the influx of cash that was the overriding consideration?

His arm is offside, just like Kavanaghs head was on Saturday…..;)

He’s weak and slow at coming out towards the edge of our box I have noticed. Our defenders ushering the ball back expect him to be there and sometimes he’s stood on his line cause a little bit of a panic.

I think the former is a bit of “ spin” tbh.

I do not disagree with what you are saying, we are generally too reliant on Cook. But with Oliver, Kavanagh, Smith already on the books as well as young, who is currently doing nothing. We needed more than Young to leave .
I think the club were hoping for a taker for Vadane. Sanderson has come in as a cheap option, he looked decent early on,but he is young so will have dips in form.
We really need Mr Oliver off the books in January, maybe then we can look for a genuine replacement for Cook.

Now that's the million dollar question, the answer to which we will probably never know.

I noticed that last season Kev. He's very slow coming out for anything over the top or a through ball.

He's got his strengths and certainly some weaknesses but overall he's decent enough, I think that's about where I'm at.

I think that's more to do with an ever changing defence. He developed a good understanding with the defence at the end of last season, but the make up of the defence this season has changed with every game.

And perfectly shows Byrne marking absolutely nobody and has very little idea what's happening behind him.

The praise he's getting, after also making a huge mistake for the Gillingham goal is baffling. It's like people are so desperate to prove a point that their not actually admitting how shaky we look at the back in pretty much every game.

Yes, he's scored in two games running and all the credit in the world to the lad, I'm genuinely pleased for him but stopping goals is his bread and butter and it could (and looking at the picture probably should) have been two in two games he's been directly involved in.

Young's 'nothing' is still more than Kavanagh, Oliver and Smith's 'something' combined.

Sorry mate, but not having that. Byrne has been very good since signing, especially since his return after injury and illness.

Man of the match for me last night, and Simon Parker agreed.

No issues with our defence at all for me. Its the strikers, except Cooky of course, who are the major concern.

So in a nutshell the promised INVESTMENT was down to players actually leaving ?????
Pity they didnt say that when they came out with there false promises yet again :(

Honestly this league has to be the weakest in a hell of a long time ................we stand 5th ????? and considering how bad we have been apart from the last 4 games simply shows how bad it is ............if come January we are in the mix and there is no investment to get the job done nowtheni simply give up with it.

If they produced hardly any howlers then they would be gracing a higher level wouldnt they ?????

They are at this level because they aint nothing special but to me Walker is one of the better ones out there .............i mean you named the Carlisle one and last night but on the whole he has done well

It’s just my opinion that he’s done average rather than well, if Lewis hadn’t of collapsed so much I don’t think people would have given him the praise he’s had since coming. He’ll probably be okay at this level but I’m constantly assessing who’s good enough for above, not many don’t get me wrong but he’d be up there with changes to be made.

Maybe, maybe not, a decisive keeper “ manages” his area in those circumstance imho.

A slightly better than average keeper I’d say, but not outstanding.

That’s simply not true anymore. Not for the clubs with aspirations anyway.

Oh come on , we wouldn’t be standing 5th if Bobbys shot was just 4” lower . Hardly relevant to make ( another) boring “political” point.

Considering all the injuries and illness over the last month I regard 5th with a massively under strength squad to choose from pretty damn good. Injuries and illness happen, yet contribute nothing towards a totally different debate you are trying to introduce. £50m players get injured and have the shits….dont they?

Please show us/ me a L2 club with aspirations that have PURCHASED youngsters, say 18 year olds ………to be first teamers two to three seasons ahead.

Just two clubs to give you a fighting chance.
